WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT: -FOCUSING ON THE WORKFORCE NEEDS OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. -WORKING IN CONJUNCTION WITH LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES. -ENHANCING WORKFORCE TRAININGS. -FOSTERING PARTNERSHIPS BY SUPPORTING THE LOCAL TUNICA COUNTY WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. PRIMARY FOCUS IS ON THE LOW-INCOME FAMILIES AND POVERTY STRICKEN COMMUNITIES WHO NEED JOBS, READINESS TRAINING, AND EMPLOYERS WHO WILL HIRE THESE APPLICANTS. THE TUNICA WORKFORCE CENTER ASSISTS IN PROVIDING WORKFORCE JOB PLACEMENTS AND NEEDED WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT TRAININGS AND SERVICES. THESE SERVICES INCLUDE: EMPLOYABILITY TRAININGS, PRE-EMPLOYMENT TRAININGS, CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING, HOSPITALITY TRAINING, JOB READINESS TRAINING, FORKLIFT CERTIFICATION TRAININGS, OSHA SAFETY TRAININGS, TRAIN-THE-TRAINER TRAININGS, MANUFACTURING TRAININGS, AND BASIC SKILLS TRAININGS. AT THE SAME TIME, THE EDUCATION SYSTEM INCLUDES PRE AND POST EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS TO HELP PREPARE PEOPLE TO BE GAINFULLY EMPLOYED IF THEY DO NOT GO TO COLLEGE. THE WORKFORCE CENTER ALSO PROVIDE TRAININGS AND WORKSHOPS ON CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, CENSUS WORK, YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, AND GIS MAPPING. ACCOUNTABILITY TRAININGS AND WORKSHOPS ARE CONDUCTED WITH THE LOCAL OFFICIALS TO ENSURE THAT THE LOCAL POLICIES THAT IMPACT THEIR COMMUNITIES ARE IMPLEMENTED.
