TO BREAK THE CYCLE OF EXTREME POVERTY IN THE TOWN OF LAS TERRENAS IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC BY FOSTERING CHILDREN'S LOVE AND INTEREST IN LEARNING WHILE KEEPING THEM ENROLLED IN A PROGRAM THAT PUTS THEM ON A PATH TOWARD BILINGUALISM, ATHELETICISM, AND THE DREAM OF HIGHER EDUCATION.

PRIMARY EDUCATIONUTILIZING ITS MULTIUSE SPACE, THE HAESE ACADEMY EXPANDED ITS EDUCATIONAL OFFERINGS THROUGH THE ADDITION OF A LITERACY DEVELOPMENT CENTER OPEN TO ENTIRE TOWN. THROUGH THE EXPANSION OF A BILINGUAL CURRICULUM THAT MEETS THE US COMMON CORE STANDARDS, THE ACADEMY OFFERED A PRIMARY SCHOOL TO LOCAL CHILDREN FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2021/2022 AND CREATED AN AFTERNOON LITERACY PROGRAM FOR YOUTH TO SUPPLEMENT THEIR LEARNING IN THE LOCAL PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
COMMUNITY CENTERTHE EXPANSION OF HAESE ACADEMY PROGRAMS LED TO THE CREATION OF A COMMUNITY CENTER DESIGNED TO SUPPLEMENT YOUTH LEARNING IN THE LOCAL PUBLIC SCHOOLS. THE COMMUNITY CENTER OFFERS LOCAL KIDS A SAFE SPACE PLACE TO LEARN AND PLAY, AND HAS LED TO MANY MORE YOUTHS BEING ABLE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HAESE ACADEMY OFFERINGS. CONSISTING OF OPEN AIR CLASSROOMS, A LIBRARY, A COMPUTER LAB, POOL, PLAYGROUND, AND BASKETBALL COURT, OUR STUDENTS UTILIZE TOP SHELF RESOURCES TO LEARN, PLAY, AND GROW.
ATHLETIC TRAINING AND MENTORSHIPTHE HAESE ACADEMY CONTINUED WITH THE TRAINING OF LOCAL YOUTH IN THE QUEST FOR SIGNING PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL CONTRACTS ON THE CONDITION THEY REMAIN ENROLLED IN SCHOOL. WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF OUR OWN BASEBALL FIELD, WE WERE ABLE TO EXPAND OUR OFFERINGS AND PROVIDE AT-RISK LOCAL YOUTH WITH A SAFE PLACE TO LEARN AND PRACTICE THE GAME OF BASEBALL. IN ADDITION, UTILIZING OUR CAMPUS, OUR PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THEIR STUDIES FOR SCHOOL, AND EXPAND THEIR MIND IN THE COMPUTER LAB AND LIBRARY PRIOR TO COMMENCING DAILY PRACTICES.
