SENTENCE REVIEW PROJECT - FOR THE PEOPLE CREATES PARTNERSHIPS WITH DISTRICT ATTORNEYS AND PROSECUTORS OFFICES AND HAS PARTNERED WITH 10 STATES TO SUPPORT PROSECUTOR-INITIATED RE-SENTENCING INITIATIVES AND LEGISLATION. THOUSANDS OF CASES HAVE BEEN REVIEWED. CLOSE TO 500 INDIVIDUALS HAVE BEEN RELEASED FROM PRISON THANKS TO THE PROSECUTOR-INITIATED RESENTENCING LAW, AB 2942, WHICH FOR THE PEOPLE WROTE AND ASSISTED IN PASSING RESULTING IN AN ESTIMATED SAVINGS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN CALIFORNIA PRISON SPENDING. 1000+ NEEDLESS YEARS BEHIND BARS ELIMINATED THROUGH DIRECT CASE WORK.
