THE MISSION OF THE CREEDE CENTER FOR THE ARTS IS TO OFFER ART, PERSPECTIVES ON NATURE, AND COMMUNAL EXPERIENCES THAT ENHANCE THE LIVES OF LOCAL RESIDENTS, ATTRACT NEW VISITORS, AND DRIVE ECONOMIC GROWTH IN THE HISTORIC CITY OF CREEDE, COLORADO.

PROJECT STATUS FOR THE CREEDE CENTER FOR THE ARTS IS STILL IN THE FIRST PHASE OF FUNDRAISING. IN 2022 THE CENTER ACCOMPLISHED A CONCEPT DESIGN FOR THE BUILDING, A CASE FOR SUPPORT, A BUSINESS PLAN, AND A PRIVATE SECTOR GOAL TESTED BY A FEASIBILITY STUDY. THE CENTER HAS ACHIEVED NEARLY 1 MILLION IN PRIVATE FUNDS, INCLUDING A LEADERSHIP COMMITMENT OF 500,000. IN OCTOBER OF 2022 THE CENTER HIRED ITS FIRST EMPLOYEE, ERIN YURKINAS AS CAMPAIGN MANAGER. THE CENTER IS ALSO CURRENTLY WORKING WITH THE CITY OF CREEDE TO SECURE A SITE OF APPROXIMATELY THREE ACRES IN THE CENTER OF TOWN. A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE CITY ON THE LAND LEASE WILL BE PRESENTED TO THE CITY OF CREEDE TRUSTEES IN 2023.
