OUR MISSION IS TO STRENGTHEN AND EMPOWER OUR IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH KEY SERVICES, CIVIC EDUCATION, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION. WE ARE AN IMMIGRANT-LED NONPROFIT FORMED TO MEET THE CHALLENGES OF INTEGRATION FOR OUR IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY AND ADVOCATE FOR IMMIGRATION REFORM WHILE PROVIDING ACCESS TO KEY BILINGUAL NAVIGATION AND LEGAL SERVICES. WE CELEBRATE THE CONTRIBUTIONS, VALUE AND DIGNITY OF ALL IMMIGRANTS.

IMMIGRANT LEGAL SERVICES (ILS):ALIANZA NORCO IS THE ONLY ORGANIZATION IN NORTHERN COLORADO THAT OFFERS LOW-COST/PRO-BONO IMMIGRATION LEGAL SERVICES (ILS). (1) WE PROVIDE CRUCIAL ACCESS TO LEGAL SERVICES TO THOSE WHO ARE ELIGIBLE FOR ASYLUM, REFUGEE STATUS, WORK AUTHORIZATION, PERMANENT RESIDENCE, CITIZENSHIP, T/U VISAS FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN TRAFFICKED OR ABUSED, SPECIAL JUVENILE STATUS FOR UNACCOMPANIED MINORS, AND DACA, FOR PEOPLE WHO WERE BROUGHT TO THE US AS MINORS. (2) WE PROVIDE WORKSHOPS REGARDING THE IMMIGRATION PROCESS IN COLLABORATION WITH TRUSTED IMMIGRATION SERVICE PROVIDERS. (3) WE ADVOCATE FOR UNIVERSAL LEGAL REPRESENTATION AND A LEGAL DEFENSE FUND AT THE STATE AND LOCAL LEVEL. (4) WE DEVELOP COALITIONS WITH FAITH GROUPS, BUSINESS LEADERS, ADVOCACY ORGANIZATIONS AND IMMIGRANT- SERVING NONPROFITS TO SUPPORT OUR EFFORTS. LACK OF ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE LEGAL SERVICES IS A SYSTEMIC ROOT CAUSE OF INEQUITY AND A STRUCTURAL BARRIER TO IMMIGRANT INTEGRATION. OUR WORK ADDRESSES FOUNDATIONAL ASPECTS OF BUILDING A MORE RESILIENT, SAFE AND SUPPORTED IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY THAT CAN WITHSTAND THE NEXT EMERGENCY OR ECONOMIC DOWNTURN. IN THE FIRST FIVE MONTHS OF OUR ILS PROGRAM, WE SERVED OVER 90 INDIVIDUALS.
BILINGUAL NAVIGATION: WE OFFER NAVIGATION AND SERVICES TO VULNERABLE IMMIGRANTS FOR COLORADO DRIVER'S LICENSES, NOTARY SERVICES, PASSPORT APPOINTMENTS, RENT ASSISTANCE, ITIN/TAX PREPARATION, POWER OF ATTORNEY AND FAMILY LAW. WE PROVIDE REGULAR INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOPS ON COMMUNITY IDENTIFIED AREAS OF INTEREST; SOME EXAMPLES INCLUDE WORKSHOPS ON HOW TO GET A DRIVER'S LICENSE, AN ITIN, PAY TAXES, ADVANCED CARE PLANNING, HOUSING RESOURCES AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. OUR GOAL IS TO HELP IMMIGRANT FAMILIES UNDERSTAND THE FINANCIAL AND LEGAL OPTIONS AVAILABLE TO PROTECT AND CARE FOR THEIR FAMILIES IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY. THESE REFERRALS AND DIRECT ASSISTANCE HELP FAMILIES PLAN AND ACT TOWARD SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND IMPROVED MENTAL HEALTH. MAKING DRIVER'S LICENSES ACCESSIBLE TO IMMIGRANTS GIVES ESSENTIAL AGRICULTURAL, CONSTRUCTION, HEALTH AID AND SERVICE WORKERS ACCESS TO RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION AND PROMOTES SAFER DRIVERS ON OUR ROADS. IN THE FISCAL YEAR, WE DIRECTLY SERVED 472 CLIENTS IN OUR NAVIGATION PROGRAM. WE ALSO ADVOCATE FOR OUR COMMUNITY, NONPROFITS AND GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS TO BE INCLUSIVE OF THE IMMIGRANT POPULATION.
