INDIE INSTITUTE, A VOLUNTEER-RUN ORGANIZATION, WORKS TO IMPROVE ANIMAL SHELTERING AND WELFARE AND TO PROMOTE THE HUMAN-ANIMAL BOND THROUGH RESEARCH, EDUCATION, RESCUE AND REHABILITATION.

INDIE INSTITUTE DBA FINAL FRONTIER RESCUE PROJECT FUNCTIONS AS A SHIELD AGAINST EROSION OF THE NO KILL MODEL OF ANIMAL SHELTERING IN AUSTIN, TEXAS. . BY RESCUING THOSE DOGS IN DANGER OF BEING KILLED, AND SUBJECT TO RESCUE NOTIFICATION, WE HELP TO PREVENT THE RETURN AND THE NORMALIZATION OF CONVENIENCE KILLING IN THE PUBLIC SHELTER. BY SUCCESSFULLY AND SAFELY PLACING THE VAST MAJORITY OF THOSE DOGS, WE HAVE DEMONSTRATED THAT IT IS POSSIBLE.


WE HAVE HELPED TO EXPAND LOCAL RESCUE, TRAINING, AND ANIMAL WELFARE IMPROVEMENT CAPACITY AS PEOPLE WHO HAVE DEVELOPED SKILLS THROUGH VOLUNTEERING AND FOSTERING FOR FINAL FRONTIER RESCUE PROJECT HAVE GONE ON TO START LOCAL BUSINESSES CATERING TO A WIDE RANGE OF CANINE BEHAVIORS AND NEEDS. WE HAVE PROVIDED REHABILITATION FOR FEARFUL, ABUSED, AND NEGLECTED DOGS WHO HAD NO OTHER RESCUE OPTIONS. ALMOST ALL OF OUR FUNDING COMES FROM INDIVIDUAL AND SMALL BUSINESS SUPPORTERS AND IS USED FOR VETERINARY CARE, BOARDING, AND TRAINING, RESULTING IN A 99% LIVE RELEASE RATE FOR 2022. IN 2022 WE TOOK IN 97 DOGS AND PLACED 76.
