BUILDING POWER FOR COMMUNITIES OF COLOR (BPCC) IS AFFILIATED WITH THE COALITION OF COMMUNITIES OF COLOR (CCC), A 501(C)(3) COALITION OF 19 CULTURALLY SPECIFIC MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS. BPCC WAS CREATED TO EXPAND THE RANGE OF ACTIVITIES THAT WE CAN USE TO INCREASE POLITICAL POWER AND CENTER RACIAL EQUITY IN OREGON'S POLITICAL LANDSCAPE.

BUILDING POWER FOR COMMUNITIES OF COLOR LOBBIED, CONDUCTED POLLING, AND PROVIDED STAFFING FOR A LOCAL BALLOT MEASURE REFERRAL CAMPAIGN IN PREPARATION FOR THE NOVEMBER 2022 ELECTION. THE ORGANIZATION IDENTIFIED POLICY PRIORITIES FOR ELECTORAL RACES, ENGAGED IN STRATEGIC PLANNING AND BOARD DEVELOPMENT, AND SUPPORTED CANDIDATES FOR STATE AND LOCAL OFFICE IN THE MAY 2022 PRIMARY ELECTION.WASHINGTON COUNTY IGNITE TRAINED SEVERAL NEW LEADERS IN GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING AND ISSUE-BASED CAMPAIGN ADVOCACY. ORGANIZERS WERE ALSO TRAINED ON ELECTORAL ORGANIZING AND IN COMMUNICATIONS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO WAS A MEMBER OF THE STATEWIDE TABLE TO INCREASE ACCESS TO THE BALLOT BY PASSING STATEWIDE LEGISLATION. WASHINGTON COUNTY IGNITE ALSO WORKED TO UPLIFT THE MESSAGE OF SEVERAL CANDIDATES WHO SUPPORTED INCREASING RESOURCES FOR COMMUNITIES OF COLOR.
