THE CENTRAL IOWA TRAUMA RECOVERY CENTER (CITRC) IS A NON-PROFIT TRAUMA RECOVERY ORGANIZATION LOCATED IN DES MOINES. OUR MISSION IS TO ENHANCE THE PROCESS OF HEALING AND RECOVERY FOR SURVIVORS OF TRAUMA AND LOSS THROUGH INTENSIVE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, ADVOCACY, AND INNOVATIVE SUPPORTS. OUR VISION IS TO ELEVATE THE STANDARD OF CARE FOR IOWAS TRAUMA RECOVERY SYSTEM THROUGH THE UTILIZATION OF CULTURALLY-RESPONSIVE EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICES.

CENTRAL IOWA TRAUMA RECOVERY CENTER (CITRC) FOCUSES ON THE PROVISION OF HIGH QUALITY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, ADVOCACY, MEDICATION MANGAGEMENT, AND ASSERTIVE OUTREACH. ALL CITRC PROGRAMS AND SERVICES WERE PROVIDED THROUGH AN INTEGRATED CLINICAL CARE COORDINATION SYSTEM THAT EMPLOYS A TRAUMA- INFORMED AND CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE APPROACH TO THE DISPARATE EXPERIENCE OF SURVIVORS OF TRAUMA IN CENTRAL IOWA. CITRC CONTINUES TO EXPAND TELEHEALTH SERVICES AND INCREASED TECHNOLOGY ACCESS FOR SURVIVORS. CITRC PROVIDES TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE WITH AN EMPHASIS ON VICARIOUS TRAUMA AND IMPROVING THE MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING OF SURVIVORS AND THOSE WHO PROVIDE SERVICES TO THEM.
