IN MAY, 2021, NXTHVN'S SECOND COHORT OF FELLOWS COMPLETED THEIR FELLOWSHIPS, WHICH BEGAN IN DECEMBER 2019 AND EXTENDED DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC. COHORT 2 FELLOWS STUDIO FELLOWS ENGAGED IN A COMPREHENSIVE YEAR-LONG FELLOWSHIP DESIGNED TO ACCELERATE THEIR CAREER BY PROVIDING DEDICATED STUDIO SPACE, STIPEND, RIGOROUS PROFESSIONAL LEARNING SESSIONS, AND AN EXPANDED NETWORK OF COLLECTORS, GALLERIES, AND INSTITUTIONS. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, STUDIO FELLOWS PARTICIPATED IN WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS THAT FOCUS ON PRACTICAL COMPONENTS OF SETTING UP AND MANAGING A SUSTAINABLE ART PRACTICE. STUDIO FELLOWS CULMINATED THEIR FELLOWSHIP WITH AN ACCLAIMED GROUP EXHIBITION AT THE COHAN GALLERY IN NEW YORK CITY IN JUNE 2021.CURATORIAL FELLOWS RECEIVE CO-WORKING SPACE AND A STIPEND THROUGHOUT THE FELLOWSHIP YEAR. IN ADDITION TO CO-CURATING AN EXHIBITION, THE CURATORIAL FELLOWS DEVELOPED ADVANCED SKILLS IN THE LOGISTICS AND CONCEPTS OF EXHIBITION-MAKING, ENHANCED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND MENTORSHIP SKILLS, AND FORMED NEW CREATIVE PARTNERSHIPS WITHIN THE ART COMMUNITIES AT YALE UNIVERSITY, AS WELL AS, IN NEW HAVEN AND NEW YORK CITY AT LARGE. CURATORIAL FELLOWS CONDUCTED RESEARCH AND WORKED CLOSELY WITH THE CURATORIAL ADVISOR AND ENGAGED IN A SERIES OF GROUP CRITIQUES, STUDIO VISITS AND WORKSHOPS WITH ART WORLD PROFESSIONALS AND PRODUCED AN EXHIBITION AT NXTHVN IN OCTOBER 2020. IN MARCH 2021, NXTHVN ANNOUNCED ITS THIRD COHORT OF FELLOWS, INCLUDING 7 STUDIO FELLOWS AND 2 CURATORIAL FELLOWS, SELECTED FROM OVER 325 INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS. THROUGH NXTHVN'S CREATIVE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE THE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM, ALL FELLOWS ENGAGED IN INTER-GENERATIONAL MENTORSHIP WITH NINE LOCAL, TALENTED HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. ALL FOUR GRADUATING APPRENTICES WENT ON TO FOUR-YEAR UNIVERSITIES. IN MARCH AND APRIL 2021, NXTHVN PARTNERED WITH COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER AND PRODUCED COVID VACCINE CLINICS AT NXTHVN VACCINATING NEARLY 500 PEOPLE, INCLUDING ITS LOCAL NEIGHBORS.
