PROGRAM #1 - TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENTWEBINAR SERIES: WE HOSTED 4 TRAINING WEBINARS DURING FY21 WITH OVER 650 ATTENDEES. THREE OF THE WEBINARS FOCUSED ON PROVIDING ATTENDEES WITH SKILLS ON HOW TO NEGOTIATE SALARIES, HOW TO PRICE THEIR SERVICES WHEN WORKING IN PRIVATE PRACTICE; AND HOW TO DEVELOP A POSITIVE MONEY MINDSET. THE FINAL WEBINAR, WITH OVER 400 REGISTRATIONS COVERED THE TOPIC OF CULTURAL HUMILITY WHEN WORKING WITH DIVERSE CLIENTS. OVER 150 REGISTRANTS ATTENDED THE LIVE EVENT, AND WERE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN BREAKOUT SESSIONS TO DISCUSS HOW THEY CAN IMPROVE THEIR CULTURAL HUMILITY TO PROVIDE HIGHER QUALITY CARE TO DIVERSE CLIENTS. FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THESE WEBINARS CAME FROM SIGGIS. RDS OF COLOR ENTREPRENEURS SUMMIT: FROM MAY 3-6 2021, WE HOSTED A WEEKLONG VIRTUAL RDS OF COLOR ENTREPRENEURS SUMMIT, WITH OVER 150 ATTENDEES. THIS EVENT PROVIDED 14 CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS FOR REGISTERED DIETITIANS. THE EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS WERE LED BY EXPERIENCED NUTRITION ENTREPRENEURS WHO COVERED TOPICS SUCH AS WORKING WITH BRANDS; RECIPE DEVELOPMENT; STARTING A PRIVATE PRACTICE; GROUP COACHING; MINDSET AND MORE. THE GOAL OF THIS EVENT WAS TO INTRODUCE THE DIVERSITY DIETETICS COMMUNITY TO CAREER PATHWAYS AS ENTREPRENEURS AND RESOURCES THAT THEY CAN USE TO START THEIR OWN BUSINESS. MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM: IN MARCH 2021, WE LAUNCHED OUR FIRST MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES MEMBERS WITH EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO EDUCATION AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES. THE MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM ALLOWS US TO BETTER DISSEMINATE INFORMATION ABOUT CAREERS, VOLUNTEER AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES WITH RDS AND STUDENTS OF COLOR. DD MEETUPS: OUR DD MEETUPS ARE WAYS THAT OUR COMMUNITY CAN MEET TOGETHER FOR INFORMAL NETWORKING. DUE TO COVID-19 WE HELD OUR FALL BACK TO SCHOOL AND OUR SPRING MEETUP VIRTUALLY. WE HAD 100 ATTENDEES AT OUR FALL 2020 BACK TO SCHOOL MEETUPS AND 105 ATTENDEES AT OUR SPRING 2021 MEETUP. GRANTS: THANKS TO DONORS FROM BEYOND FOODS AND HUM NUTRITION, WE WERE ABLE TO PROVIDE $65,000 IN GRANTS TO 10 DIETETIC INTERNS. THESE DONATIONS PROVIDE A GREAT SUPPORT TO 10 FUTURE RDS OF COLOR, WHO WILL BE AN INCREDIBLE ASSET TO THE COMMUNITIES THEY WILL EVENTUALLY SERVE.
PROGRAM #2 - INTERSHIP & MENTORSHIPDIVERSIFY DIETETICS MEMTORSHIP PROGRAM - DURING THE FISCAL YEAR 2021, WE MATCHED 101 MENTORS WITH 101 MENTEES. WE PROVIDED 5 WORKSHOPS SPECIFICALLY FOR THE PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS
