THE KUKHOMA PROJECT'S MISSION IS TO SUPPORT AND ASSIST YOUNG WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN ZAMBIA WHO HAVE SUFFERED SEXUAL ABUSE, AND, SPECIFICALLY, THOSE WHO FIND THEMSELVES PREGNANT AS A RESULT.

THE KUKHOMA PROJECT-US (TKP) SUPPORTS TKP-ZAMBIA, A REGISTERED ZAMBIAN NGO, WHICH RUNS A FULL-TIME RESIDENTIAL CARE FACILITY IN LUSAKA, ZAMBIA FOR TEEN GIRLS PREGNANT DUE TO ABUSE. TKP-ZAMBIA PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE CARE, FACILITATES DELIVERIES OF THE BABIES, AND PROVIDES SKILLS TRAINING FOR GIRLS AND THEIR FAMILIES DURING A 2-YEAR PROGRAM. UPON PROGRAM COMPLETION, THE GIRLS WILL REINTEGRATE BACK INTO THEIR COMMUNITIES AS MOTHERS, WELL-PREPARED AND EQUIPPED TO SUPPORT THEMSELVES AND THEIR BABIES. BEYOND THE RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM, TKP-ZAMBIA WORKS DIRECTLY WITH COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL AND EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS THAT MIRROR OUR IN-HOUSE CURRICULUM.IN 2021, TKP-ZAMBIA CARED FOR 10 GIRLS, THEIR BABIES, AND THEIR FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITY, AND SUCCESSFULLY REINTEGRATED 3 GIRLS AND THEIR BABIES INTO THEIR COMMUNITIES.
