THE ASKINOSIE FOUNDATION OPERATES CHOCOLATE UNIVERSITY WITH A COMBINATION OF INTERNATIONAL AND DOMESTIC PROGRAMMING. IN RURAL TANZANIA, EMPOWERED GIRLS AND ENLIGHTENED BOYS CLUBS MEET AFTER SCHOOL ONCE PER WEEK TO LEARN IMPORTANT LIFE SKILLS, RECEIVE NECESSARY FEMININE AND GENERAL HYGIENE SUPPLIES AND KNOWLEDGE, AND WRITE VISION STATEMENTS TO HELP SET AND ACCOMPLISH THEIR GOALS. CELEBRATIONS ARE HIGHLIGHTED WITH SCHOLARSHIPS FOR UNIVERSITY PREPARATION CLASSES AND A STUDENT-LED GRADUATION CEREMONY. 2022 REGISTRATION IN THE SIX CLUBS NUMBERS 1200 STUDENTS. THE CHEKECHEA EARLY LEARNING CENTER CONTINUES TO SUCCEED WITH INCREASED INDEPENDENCE IN OPERATIONS BY THE FARMER LED COOPERATIVE. ENROLLMENT REMAINS JUST UNDER 100 STUDENTS WITH NEW RECRUITMENT INITIATIVES AND ADDITIONAL PROGRAM OFFERINGS PLANNED. DOMESTIC PROGRAMS GAINED SOME NORMALCY FOLLOWING THE PANDEMIC BUT CLASSROOM ACCESS WAS STILL LIMITED TO 3-4 SCHEDULED VISITS WITHIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. NEW ONLINE LESSONS WERE CREATED AND PUBLISHED FOR K-8 GRADES. THE FOUNDATION ALSO INITIATED NEW SUMMER PROGRAMMING IN CONJUNCTION WITH DRURY UNIVERSITY.
