Part 3 - Line 1
FOCUSED ON CONNECTING YOUNG PROFESSIONALS AND INSPIRING THEM TO GET INVOLVED AND MAKE AN IMPACT IN THEIR CAREER AND COMMUNITY.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
THE SPUR GIVING INITIATIVE IS DESIGNED TO HELP NONPROFITS ACTIVATE YOUNGER DONORS AND NEW BOARD MEMBERS. SPUR IMPACT'S PLATFORM (DEGIVES.ORG) PROVIDES NONPROFITS AN EASY AND TURNKEY WAY TO RAISE MONEY FROM THESE AND OTHER INDIVIDUAL SUPPORTERS. SPUR IMPACT LED AND USED THE PLATFORM TO HELP ORGANIZE THE STATEWIDE DO MORE 24 DELAWARE GIVES DAY EVENT ON MARCH 3-4, 2022, WHICH RAISED NEARLY $2.6 MILLION FOR 452 DELAWARE NONPROFITS FROM MORE THAN 12,000 UNIQUE DONORS OVER 24 HOURS.
THE #MILLSUMMIT IS THE PREMIER LEADERSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE FOR YOUNG (AND SEASONED) PROFESSIONALS AND IS DESIGNED TO HELP CONNECT YOUNG PROFESSIONALS, DIFFERENCE MAKERS, RISING STARS, AND OTHER LEADERS WHO WANT TO MAKE AN IMPACT IN THEIR CAREER AND COMMUNITY. IN 2022, THERE WERE MORE THAN 850 UNIQUE ATTENDEES FROM 30 STATES AT THE VIRTUAL & HYBRID EVENT, INCLUDING 84 SPEAKERS (80% OF SPEAKERS WERE WOMEN OR PERSONS OF COLOR). THE #MILLSUMMIT IS AMONG THE LARGEST HYBRID CONFERENCE OF ITS KIND IN THE COUNTRY.
THE PURSUIT OF HEALTH & WELLNESS EXPO IS DELAWARE'S LARGEST HEALTH FAIR AND TRADE SHOW. THE HEALTH FAIR WAS HELD IN JANUARY 2022. DESPITE THE THEN-OMICRON EMERGING SPIKE AT THE TIME, THE HEALTH FAIR ENJOYED A SUCCESSFUL TURNOUT THAT FEATURED 42 EXHIBITORS AND DREW NEARLY 300 PEOPLE TO ATTEND OVER THE COURSE OF THE EVENT. IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE HEALTH FAIR AND THE #MILLSUMMIT, SPUR IMPACT HELD A WOMEN'S NETWORKING EVENT CALLED HEALTH IN HIGH HEELS AS WELL AS A VIRTUAL CONFERENCE FOCUSED ON HEALTH & WELLNESS TOPICS.
THE OTHER SPUR IMPACT INITIATIVES INCLUDE THE NINE INNINGS OF NETWORKING AND THE DELAWARE DIFFERENCE MAKERS. THE NINE INNINGS OF NETWORKING ARE DELAWARE-FOCUSED JOB FAIR AND NETWORKING EVENTS. IN SUMMER 2022, SPUR IMPACT HELD TWO JOB FAIRS DURING A BASEBALL GAME AT A LOCAL MINOR LEAGUE STADIUM. THE NATURE OF THE EVENT ALLOWS FOR A MORE RELAXED NETWORKING AND RECRUITING ATMOSPHERE BETWEEN THE PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYEES (AND OTHER ATTENDEES) AND EMPLOYERS AT THE GAME. ATTENDANCE AT THE 2022 NETWORKING GAMES WAS STILL LOWER THAN IN PRE-PANDEMIC YEARS BUT MANY OF THE 31 EMPLOYERS THAT ATTENDED ONE OR BOTH JOB FAIR EVENTS REPORTED SUCCESS IN RECRUITING AND HIRING CANDIDATES FROM THE EVENT. THE DELAWARE DIFFERENCE MAKERS ARE AN INFORMAL NETWORKING GROUP DESIGNED TO HELP THOSE WHO WORK IN THE NONPROFIT SECTOR MEET THEIR COUNTERPARTS, SHARE BEST PRACTICES, AND OTHERWISE DISCOVER NEW OR EMERGING INDUSTRY TRENDS OR EVENTS. IN CONNECTION WITH THE #MILLSUMMIT AND SPUR GIVING INITIATIVES, THE DELAWARE DIFFERENCE MAKERS ALSO HELPS MAKE CONNECTIONS WITH YOUNG PROFESSIONALS AND EMERGING LEADERS INTERESTED IN PHILANTHROPY. SIMILARLY, SPUR IMPACT ALSO WILL HOLD DELAWARE CHARITY CHALLENGE EVENTS ON OCCASION. THESE EVENTS ARE A COMBINATION OF FUNDRAISING AND ATHLETIC COMPETITIONS DESIGNED TO GIVE ORGANIZATIONS, FAMILIES, AND INDIVIDUALS A FUN WAY TO RAISE MONEY AND AWARENESS FOR THEIR FAVORITE NONPROFIT CAUSES USING THE DELAWARE GIVES PLATFORM OR DELAWARE DIFFERENCE MAKERS AND #MILLSUMMIT NETWORKS. NO DELAWARE CHARITY CHALLENGE EVENTS WERE HELD IN 2022.
