GCG COMPLETED OUR RESPONSIBILITIES FOR YEAR 2 OF A 4-YEAR INITIATIVE CALLED GROUP CARE_1000, FUNDED BY THE EUROPEAN UNION. WE COLLABORATED WITH 8 PARTNERS TO WORK IN 7 COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD AS PART OF AN IMPLEMENTATION GRANT TO SET THE GROUNDWORK FOR ESTABLISHING GROUP-BASED PRENATAL AND PARENTING CARE. WE ALSO COLLABORATED WITH CAI GLOBAL TO CREATE 12 ONLINE LEARNING MODULES, FOCUSED ON PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION OF GROUP CARE IN HEALTH CARE SETTINGS. DESPITE RESTRICTIONS OF THE PANDEMIC, TRAINING WORKSHOPS WERE CONDUCTED IN 6 OF THE SEVEN COUNTRIES. FORMAL CONSORTIUM MEETINGS WERE CONDUCTED ONLINE USING ZOOM AND OTHER MEETING MODALITIES AS WAS CONTINUING CONSULTATION WITH THE COUNTRY PARTNERS. GCG COLLABORATED WITH THE CHINESE NATIONAL MIDWIFERY ASSOCIATION TO CONDUCT 3 TRAINING WORKSHOPS INVOLVING MIDWIVES AND OBSTETRICIANS FROM SEVERAL LARGE HOSPITAL SETTINGS THROUGHOUT CHINA. INITIAL DISCUSSIONS WERE CONDUCTED WITH THE MIT WORLD PEACE UNIVERSITY IN PUNE, INDIA TO IDENTIFY A CLINICAL SITE FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF A GROUP PRENATAL CARE MODEL.THE TROTULA FUND PROVIDED FUNDING FOR GCG TO CONDUCT THE FIRST TRAINING OF MIDWIVES AND STAFF AT THE WAJAMAMA WELLNESS CENTER IN ZANZIBAR (TANZANIA).
