WHILE NO EVENT TOOK PLACE DURING 2020 DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE FOLLOWING IS THE TYPICAL PROGRAM FOR THIS ORGANIZATION: A MEDICAL LECTURE IS ORGANIZED EACH YEAR BY A MEDICAL LECTURE COMMITTEE, LED BY ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON AND BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF LANSING BOARD MEMBER DR. JOHN SAUCHAK. THIS COMMITTEE PLANS THE PROGRAM, SOLICITS SPEAKERS AND ARRANGES FOR VENDORS AT A VENDOR SHOWCASE AT THE EVENT. IT IS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR ARRANGING ATTENDANCE OF INTERESTED PROFESSIONALS. THE EVENT TYPICALLY TAKES PLACE AT EAGLE EYE GOLF COURSE IN BATH, MICHIGAN DURING THE FIRST WEEK IN JUNE. MEDICAL VENDORS AND PRODUCT SUPPLIERS PAY LANSING AREA ORTHOPEDIC SUBSIDIARY OF THE BGC FOR VENDOR BOOTHS WHERE THEY DISPLAY THEIR OWN GOODS AND SERVICES AND ARE PERMITTED TO SELL OR SOLICIT ORDERS. A FEE IS CHARGED BY LANSING AREA ORTHOPEDIC SUBSIDIARY OF THE BGC FOR ATTENDEES OF THE MEDICAL LECTURE. ATTENDEES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION CREDITS. LECTURERS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF DR. SAUCHAK RECEIVE AN HONORARIA.THE MEDICAL LECTURE OPENS WITH REGISTRATION AND A MEET-AND-GREET FOR PHYSICIANS AND MEDICAL RESIDENTS IN THE VENDOR EXHIBIT AREA. THE EXHIBIT AREA IS ACCESSIBLE TO PARTICIPANTS PRIOR TO THE LECTURE, AT AN INTERMISSION BETWEEN LECTURES, AND DURING THE RECEPTION HELD AFTER THE LECTURE.ALL PROFITS FROM THE EVENT ARE CONTRIBUTED TO THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF LANSING TO SUPPORT YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMING.
