THE TIDES MISSION IS TO KEEP THE MOTHER-CHILD DYAD INTACT BY ENGAGING PREGNANT WOMEN WITH SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER IN THE RECOVERY PROCESS REGARDLESS OF RACE, COLOR, CREED, SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR NATIONAL ORIGIN OF THE MOTHER OR CHILD. MOTHERS AND THEIR CHILDREN MAY PARTICIPATE UP TO 24 MONTHS DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT OF TIME NEEDED TO ACHIEVE POSITIVE OUTCOMES. RECOVERY IS SEEN AS A GRADUAL, ONGOING PROCESS OF COGNITIVE CHANGE THROUGH CLINICAL INTERVENTIONS. PARTICIPANTS SET PERSONAL OBJECTIVES AS THEY ADVANCE THROUGH THE STAGES OF TREATMENT.

TIDES HAS ADMITTED 112 WOMEN INTO THE PROGRAM, PROVIDED HOUSING FOR OVER 73 WOMEN AND CHILDREN, AND 65 BABIES HAVE BEEN BORN TO WOMEN IN THE PROGRAM. WE HAVE ALSO GRADUATED 33 WOMEN, WITH 95% MAINTAINING CUSTODY OF THEIR CHILDREN. MANY HAVE FOUND STABLE EMPLOYMENT, PAID OFF DEBTS, REGAINED THEIR DRIVER'S LICENSE AND CONTINUED TO STAY DRUG FREE. TIDES ALSO OPENED A NEW LOCATION IN MOORE COUNTY IN 2022. THIS LOCATION WILL SERVE THE SANDHILLS REGION AND OFFERS ALL OF THE SAME SERVICES AS THE WILMINGTON LOCATION. PARTNERS AND SPONSORS ARE IN PLACE AND THIS LOCATION HAS ITS OWN FUNDING STREAM.
