PURE JUSTICE SEEKS TO EMPOWER, INSPIRE, AND ACTIVATE ITS MEMBERS AND COMMUNITY SUPPORTERS TO CHAMPION RESTORATIVE JUSTICE PRACTICES, EQUITY IN ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES, AND TRANSFORMATION TO THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND ECONOMIC STRUCTURES OF HARRIS COUNTY FOR THE UPLIFTING OF MARGINALIZED INDIVIDUALS.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZING: COMMUNITY ORGANIZING IS THE PROCESS OF BUILDING POWER THROUGH INVOLVING A CONSTITUENCY IN IDENTIFYING PROBLEMS THEY SHARE AND THE SOLUTIONS TO THOSE PROBLEMS THAT THEY DESIRE. THROUGH THIS PROCESS THE COMMUNITY EDUCATES EACH OTHER, DECISION MAKERS, AND OTHER VITAL STAKEHOLDERS.
FELLOWSHIPS: THE PURE JUSTICE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM IS A PAID HANDS-ON TRAINING PROGRAM TO ASSIST OUR MEMBERS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN GAINING IN-DEPTH EXPERIENCE IN GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING AND LEADERSHIP. IT CONSISTS OF CIVIC EDUCATION, ORGANIZING TRAINING, AND FIELD PRACTICE THROUGH DIRECT IMMERSION IN LOCAL ISSUE CAMPAIGNS CENTERED AROUND SOCIAL JUSTICE.
DISASTER RELIEF: COVID RELIEF: PURE JUSTICE PHONE-BANKED AND TEXTED OVER 200,000 HARRIS COUNTY TX RESIDENTS TO EDUCATE THEM ON THE COVID-19 VACCINES AND HOW THEY ARE USED TO COMBAT THE VIRUS. ADDITIONALLY WE PARTNERED WITH HARRIS COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH TO HOST 10 VACCINE DRIVES IN COMMUNITIES NEEDING GREATER ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE, RESULTING IN APPROXIMATELY 250 INDIVIDUALS BEING FULLY VACCINATED. TEXAS WINTER STORMS RELIEF: PURE JUSTICE DELIVERED HOT MEALS AND NONPERISHABLE FOOD AND NECESSITIES TO 200+ FAMILIES DURING THE POWER OUTAGE RELATED TO THE TEXAS WINTER STORMS OF 2021
VOTER REGISTRATION: IN AN EFFORT TO ENSURE THAT OUR COMMUNITIES ARE CIVICALLY ENGAGED, PURE JUSTICE ASSISTS COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO BECOME VOLUNTEER DEPUTY VOTER REGISTRARS AND HOST EVENTS TO HELP OTHERS TO GET REGISTERED TO VOTE. REDISTRICTING EDUCATION: PURE JUSTICE HOSTED COMMUNITY MEETINGS TO EDUCATE ORGANIZATION MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE REDISTRICTING PROCESS AND THE IMPACT IT HAS ON VOTING AND ELECTIONS. WE TAUGHT COMMUNITY MEMBERS HOW TO DRAW MAPS THAT MAY REPRESENT THEIR BEST INTEREST AND WAYS THEY COULD PARTICIPATE IN THE REDISTRICTING PROCESS.
