DEEP ROOTS CHARTER SCHOOL'S MISSION IS TO TEACH DISCIPLINED LEARNERS AND BEYOND. DEEP ROOTS CHARTER SCHOOL IS AN ACTIVELY ANTIRACIST AND INCLUSIVE ORGANIZATION. WE SERVE ALL STUDENTS, SUPPORT ALL FAMILIES, AND ADVOCATE FOR OUR COMMUNITIES. OUR LEARNERS AND TEAM WILL DISCOVER THEIR PURPOSE, POTENTIAL AND ACTIVELY WORK TO DISMANTLE BARRIERS WITH AND BEYOND OUR WALLS. AT FULL GROWTH, DEEP ROOTS WILL SERVE 370 K-5 STUDENTS IN THE KENSINGTON/HARROWGATE NEIGHBORHOODS OF PHILADELPHIA. DEEP ROOTS HAS PROVIDED SERVICE TO STUDENTS IN PHILADELPHIA SINCE 2018.FOR FY22, THE SCHOOL PRIMARILY RELIED ON IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION BUT WAS AT TIMES FORCED TO EMPLOY A HYBRID APPROACH, BASED ON SCHOOL DISTRICT GUIDANCE AND COVID CONDITIONS. THE SCHOOL ALSO UTILIZED FEDERAL ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL EMERGENCY RELIEF (ESSER) FUNDING THAT WAS RECEIVED VIA THE PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION WITH THE INTENTION OF OFFSETTING COVID-RELATED COSTS AND MITIGATING LEARNING LOSS STEMMING FROM THE PANDEMIC.
