THE BOARD MATCHING PROGRAM: THIS PROGRAM IS FOUNDED ON THE VALUES THAT SUPPORT OUR MISSION TO CREATE A MORE RACIALLY DIVERSE, EQUITABLE AND INCLUSIVE NONPROFIT BOARD SECTOR. AS A BOARD PROSPECT OF COLOR, THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO HELP YOU GAIN ACCESS TO BOARD LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AND PROVIDE YOU WITH THE NECESSARY RESOURCES TO NAVIGATE BOARD NORMS. AT TNP WE BELIEVE IN CREATING A CULTURAL SHIFT ON BOARDS THAT CHALLENGES INSTITUTIONAL SYSTEMS AND FOSTERS DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION. AS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION, THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO HELP YOU GAUGE YOUR BOARD'S READINESS FOR MATCHING WITH A BOARD PROSPECT OF COLOR, AND PROVIDE YOU WITH THE NECESSARY RESOURCES TO STRENGTHEN OR BEGIN YOUR BOARD'S DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION JOURNEY. THE EQUITY CHAIR WORKSHOP SERIES: PART 1: THE EQUITY CHAIR PART 1 WORKSHOP IS DESIGNED TO PREPARE, SUPPORT AND ELEVATE NEW AND EXPERIENCED BOARD MEMBERS OF COLOR, AND ALLIES, FOR THEIR ROLE AS GOVERNING MEMBERS ON NONPROFIT BOARDS.THIS TRAINING IS FOCUSED ON DISRUPTING BOARD NORMS AND LEARNING HOW TO NAVIGATE MAINSTREAM NONPROFITS THROUGH A CULTURAL CONSCIOUS PERSPECTIVE. MAIN TOPICS INCLUDE: CULTURALLY RELEVANT LEADERSHIP, SPEAKING YOUR TRUTH, CONFRONTING TOKENISM, AMONG OTHERS.PART 2: THE EQUITY CHAIR PART 2 OF THE EQUITY CHAIR WORKSHOP IS DESIGNED TO HELP PARTICIPANTS TAKE ACTIVE ROLES AS INCLUSIVE LEADERS IN ORDER TO ENGAGE BOARD MEMBERS INDIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION PRACTICES AND VALUES. THIS TRAINING IS FOCUSED ON UNDERSTANDING THE CHARACTERISTICS OF AN INCLUSIVE LEADER AND HOW TO CREATE CULTURAL SHIFTS ON YOUR BOARD THROUGH YOUR LEADERSHIP.IN ALL TNP HAS EXECUTED 19 WORKSHOPS AND HAS HAD 240 PARTICIPANTS. FIRST LOOK ASSESSMENT PROGRAM: THIS PROGRAM IS A BOARD DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION ASSESSMENT THAT HELPS AN ORGANIZATION PREPARE FOR THE TRANSFORMATIONAL PROCESS, OR CHANGE, REQUIRED TO INCREASE DIVERSITY. IT IDENTIFIES AN ORGANIZATION'S STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES AND THE POTENTIAL CHALLENGES THAT MIGHT ARISE WHEN IMPLEMENTING NEW PROCESSES, STRUCTURES AND POSITIONS WHEN ADJUSTING ITS CULTURE. INCLUSION ASSESSMENTS ARE A CRITICAL TOOL FOR ORGANIZATIONS PREPARING FOR THEIR JOURNEY TOWARDS DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION. AS OF 2022 TNP HAS HAD 16 NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROGRAM. MOST RECENTLY, TEXAS HEALTH ACTION HAS NOTED A 30% INCREASE IN THEIR BOARD DIVERSITY FROM 2019 -2021. TEXAS NETWORK OF YOUTH SERVICES HAS NOTED A 10% INCREASE IN THEIR BOARD DIVERSITY IN LESS THAN A YEAR SINCE PARTICIPATING IN THE PROGRAM.
