WE ARE AN INDEPENDENT NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION AND STATE PARKS COOPERATING ASSOCIATION DEDICATED TO SUPPORTING THE THREE STATE PARKS ADJACENT TO THE L.A. RIVER: LOS ANGELES STATE HISTORIC PARK IN CHINATOWN NORTHEAST DTLA; RIO DE LOS ANGELES STATE PARK IN CYPRESS PARK; AND THE BOWTIE PARCEL THE FORMER G1 RAILYARD IN GLASSELL PARK THAT WILL SOON BECOME THE THIRD RIVER ADJACENT STATE PARK. WE PROTECT AND ENHANCE THE COMMUNITY CULTURAL NATURAL AND HISTORIC RESOURCES OF THE RIVER PARKS.

Part 3 - Line 4a

CIBIC CIVIC BICYCLE COMMUTING: WITH UCLA AND OTHER PARTNERS WE FACILITATED A SMARTPHONE APP-SUPPORTED NEW GROUP BIKE COMMUTING SYSTEM FOR NORTHEAST LOS ANGELES DESIGNING AND CONDUCTING EXTENSIVE COMMUNITY OUTREACH EFFORTS TO RECRUIT RIDERS AND HOSTING A SERIES OF RELATED BIKE DAY EVENTS AT LA STATE HISTORIC PARK.


WITH PARKS CALIFORNIA ROUTE TO PARK GRANT FUNDING WE RESEARCHED PUBLIC TRANSIT OPTIONS AND PATTERNS NEAR LA STATE HISTORIC PARK AND DESIGNED AND CONDUCTED A CAMPAIGN TO INCREASE THE USE OF PUBLIC TRANSIT TO THE PARK INCLUDING TARGETED COMMUNITY AND TRANSIT LINE DIRECT OUTREACH AS WELL AS THE DISTRIBUTION OF PRE-PAID BRANDED METRO TAP CARDS.


THE ANNENBERG FOUNDATION GRANT FOR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EQUITABLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY UNDERTOOK RESEARCH AND COMMUNITY CONSULTATION TO EXPLORE EQUITABLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS ON THE LA RIVER INCLUDING EXPANDING LA STATE HISTORIC PARK TO THE BANK OF THE LA RIVER.
