PROJECT BACKBOARD IS A 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION WHOSE MISSION IS TO RENOVATE PUBLIC BASKETBALL COURTS AND INSTALL LARGE SCALE WORKS OF ART ON THE SURFACE IN ORDER TO STRENGTHEN COMMUNITIES, IMPROVE PARK SAFETY, ENCOURAGE MULTI-GENERATIONAL PLAY, AND INSPIRE MULTI-GENERATIONAL PLAY.

PROJECT BACKBOARD COMPLETED EIGHT MAJOR PUBLIC BASKETBALL COURT RENOVATIONS IN NEW YORK (ST. NICHOLAS PARK, CHILDREN'S VILLAGE, VAN DYKE HOUSES, BAISLEY HOUSES), ATLANTA (PARKWAY WABASH PARK AND A.R. "GUS" BARKSDALE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB), FRESNO (KOLIGIAN PARK) AND LOS ANGELES. ADDITIONAL COSTS ACCRUED IN 2021 INCLUDE UNVEILING THE COURT AT CLINA DEL SOL PARK IN SAN DIEGO AND INITIAL PAYMENTS FOR COURT RENOVATIONS IN CLEVELAND AND CHARLOTTE, COMPLETED IN EARLY 2022.


PROJECT BACKBOARD MADE FINAL PAYMENTS ON A NEW BOOK "COMMON PRACTICE: BASKETBALL & CONTEMPORARY ART" THAT WILL BE DONATED TO COMMUNITY, SCHOOL, AND PRISON LIBRARIES AND ALSO USED TO RAISE FUNDS FOR PROJECT BACKBOARD.


500 COPIES OF THE BOOK, ASPHAT CHRONICLES BY KEVIN COULIAU, TO BE DISTRIBUTED IN NORTH AMERICA.
