THE BLACK MANGROVE PROJECT IS A MULTIYEAR PROJECT THAT IS A COLLABORATION BETWEEN ST. BERNARD PARISH GOVERNMENT AND ANGLERS BETTERING LOUISIANA'S ESTUARIES. WE ARE ON OUR SECOND YEAR OF MANGROVE PLANTINGS AND OUR SECOND YEAR OF SEED COLLECTIONS AND GREEN HOUSE PLANTINGS. THIS PROJECT IS USING BLACK MANGROVES AS SHORELINE STABILIZATION TOOL AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO CURRENT SMOOTH CORD GRASS THAT EXISTS IN THESE MARSH ENVIRONMENTS.
