THE CONSERVANCY 1S DEDICATED TO RESTORING, PROTECTING AND ENHANCING THE ECOLOGICAL, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL VIBRANCY OF SHOAL CREEK IN AUSTIN, TEXAS, FOR THE PEOPLE OF AUSTIN BY ENGAGING THE PUBLIC AND PARTNERING WITH THE COMMUNITY, INCLUDING GOVERNING ENTITIES THE ORGANIZATION WORKS TO IMPROVE THE CREEK AND ITS ASSOCIATED TRAIL THE ENJOYMENT AND USE BY THE PUBLIC.

WATERSHED ACTION PLAN: THE SHOAL CREEK WATERSHED ACTION PLAN REPRESENTS THE BEGINNING OF A DECADES-LONG EFFORT TO RESTORE THE COMMUNITY'S ABILITY TO FISH, SWIM AND PLAY SAFELY IN SHOAL CREEK. THE CONSERVANCY IS WORKING WITH ENVIRONMENTAL PROFESSIONALS AND COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS TO IDENTIFY SCIENCE-BASED, ACTIONABLE STEPS TO IMPROVE WATER QUALITY, HALT EROSION, RESTORE NATIVE HABITAT, AND MORE.
TRAIL PLAN: THE SHOAL CREEK TRAIL PLAN IS A PLAN TO CREATE A SEAMLESS, CONNECTED PATHWAY ALONG THE ENTIRE 11-MILE SHOAL CREEK CORRIDOR, INTEGRATING SHOAL CREEK INTO A CITYWIDE NETWORK OF URBAN TRAILS.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: THE CONSERVANCY FACILITATES A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS TO ENGAGE AUSTINITES, INCLUDING REGULAR VOLUNTEER WORKDAYS, EDUCATIONAL TRAIL TOURS, AND STAKEHOLDER MEETINGS TO INVOLVE THE COMMUNITY IN THE PROCESS OF CREATING IMPROVEMENT GOALS FOR SHOAL CREEK AND THE SHOAL CREEK TRAIL. THE ORGANIZATION HOSTED 32 VOLUNTEER CLEANUPS/RESTORATION PROJECTS WITH 271 TOTAL VOLUNTEERS. THEY SERVED 589 VOLUNTEER HOURS, PLANTED 400 SAPLINGS, AND COLLECTED 5,855 POUNDS OF TRASH. ADDITIONALLY, WE HOSTED 10 FREE, EDUCATIONAL TRAIL TOURS.
