THE OLD MUTT HUT IS A REST-OF-THEIR-LIVES SANCTUARY FOR DOGS WHO WIND UP HOMELESS IN THEIR ELDER YEARS. IN THE FIVE YEARS SINCE OUR LAUNCH, WE HAVE CONSISTENTLY INCREASED YEAR-OVER-YEAR COMMUNITY DONATIONS TO OUR ORGANIZATION--BY 15.8 PERCENT IN 2022 COMPARED WITH 2021. OUR DONOR BASE INCREASED FROM 151 DONORS IN 2021 TO 259 IN 2022 AND OUR VOLUNTEER CORPS HAS ALSO INCREASED YEAR OVER YEAR: IN 2022 WE ADDED FIVE NEW VOLUNTEERS AND NO VOLUNTEER RESIGNED. OVER THE COURSE OF 2022 WE ADMITTED A TOTAL OF FIVE DOGS (THE STATE HAS LICENSED US FOR 15 AND DURING MOST OF THE YEAR THE POPULATION AT THE OLD MUTT HUT WAS 10 OR 11), MOST FROM SHELTERS, WHICH REDUCES THE FINANCIAL BURDEN ON THE CITY AND COUNTY, AND THE PSYCHIC RAMIFICATIONS ON THE SHELTER STAFFS WHICH SUFFER WHEN DOGS MUST BE EUTHANIZED.
