LIVE MUSIC PERORMANCES SHOWCASING ORIGINAL MUSIC IN LESS COMMERCIAL BUT CULTURALLY IMPORTANT GENRES. SHOWS ARE STREAMED LIVE, RECORDED AND EDITED TO BE ARCHIVED IN OUR LIBRARY FOR PRESERVATION PURPOSES. LIVE AUDIENCE IS BETWEEN 50 AND 80 PEOPLE. BANDS HAVE ACCESS TO THE RECORDINGS.

THE GRASS ROOTS CULTURAL AND PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, INC.'S PRIMARY PROGRAM SERVICE IS TO PRODUCE LIVE PERFORMANCES BY MUSICIANS PERFORMING TRADITIONAL AMERICAN ROOTS MUSIC, TO RECORD AND PRESERVE THOSE PERFORMANCES, AND TO BUILD COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR LIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCES. IN 2021, OUR VENUE WAS CLOSED FOR THE FIRST SIX MONTHS BECAUSE OF MASSACHUSETTS COVID REGULATIONS. DURING THE BALANCE OF THE YEAR, WE PRODUCED 20 SHOWS, SUPPORTED 80 MUSICIANS, AND SOLD 1,344 TICKETS.
