VHPI FOCUSES ITS RESEARCH AND EDUCATION ON HOW THE LEGISLATORS, THE PUBLIC, AND THE MEDIA CAN BETTER UNDERSTAND VETERANS HEALTHCARE NEEDS, IMPROVE THE PROVISION OF CARE TO VETERANS IN THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR, AND APPLY VA BEST PRACTICES TO THE REST OF THE AMERICAN HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.WE ALSO HELP COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, ADVOCACY GROUPS, PUBLIC OFFICIALS, RESEARCHERS, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC UNDERSTAND HOW THE PRIVATIZATION OF VA HEALTHCARE AND BENEFITS AFFECT SERVICE QUALITY, DEMOCRACY, EQUITY, AND GOVERNMENT BUDGETS.
