THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION CURRENTLY IS TO CONDUCT EDUCATION FOLLOWING THE MONTESSORI METHOD TO BENEFIT CHILDREN IN THE SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA AREA.

WILDWOOD MONTESSORI EDUCATES STUDENTS ENROLLED IN ITS PRESCHOOL PROGRAM SERVING AGES 6 WEEKS TO 2.5 YEARS OLD. THE PROGRAMS RUN FROM SEPTEMBER TO MAY FROM 8:30AM TO 3:00PM. THE SCHOOL OFFERS CHILD-CENTERED AND CHILD- DIRECTED CURRICULUM. IN A CAREFULLY PREPARED ENVIRONMENT RICH IN HIGH QUALITY MATERIALS AND SUPPORTED BY MONTESSORI TRAINED TEACHERS, THE CURRICULUM CAN CLOSELY FOLLOW THE INTERESTS OF EACH CHILD. TEACHERS OBSERVE THE CHILDREN FOR SUBTLE CUES THAT INDICATE WHEN THE CHILD IS READY TO BE INTRODUCED TO NEW MATERIALS. THEY ALSO CAREFULLY DOCUMENT EACH CHILD'S DEVELOPMENT AND THEN REGULARLY ANALYZE THE DATA TO ASSURE A STEADY AND BALANCED DEVELOPMENT. POSITIVE COMMUNITY AND PARENT RELATIONSHIPS ARE IMPORTANT TO THE SUCCESS OF THE SCHOOL'S MISSION. THE SCHOOL HOLDS PARENT EDUCATION NIGHTS FEATURING IMPORTANT CHILD DEVELOPMENT TOPICS; THE EVENTS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. QUARTERLY DINNERS ARE HELD WITH THE FAMILIES OF STUDENTS ATTENDING THE SCHOOL TO BUILD AND SUPPORT THE SCHOOL/PARENT PARTNERSHIP.
