TO HELP CONSUMERS WITH DISABILITIES REMAIN INDEPENDENT THROUH A VARIETY OF ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS.
THIS PROGRAM ALLOWS MORE CHOICES FOR ADULTS WHO ARE ELDERLY OR PHYSICALLY DISABLED. AFTER IDENTIFYING UNMET NEED, ELIGIBLE MEDICAID CONSUMERS WILL BE ABLE TO CHOOSE SERVICES THAT WILL ALLOW THEM TO STAY IN THEIR OWN HOMES OR COMMUNITIES. THIS IS A CONSUMER, SELF DIRECTED PROGRAM. THE CONSUMER IS THE EMPLOYER OF HIS/HER ATTENDANT. THE CONSUMER HAS THE RIGHT TO MAKE DECISIONS ABOUT, DIRECT THE PROVISION OF, AND CONTROLL ALL SERVICES.
