NEWMEXICOWOMEN.ORG (NMW.O) IS A STATEWIDE WOMEN'S FUND THAT WORKS TO ADVANCE OPPORTUNITIES FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS SO THAT THEY CAN LEAD HEALTHY, SELF-SUFFICIENT AND EMPOWERED LIVES.

GRANTMAKING: -INCREASED PHILANTHROPIC INVESTMENT THROUGH GRANTMAKING, CAPACITY BUILDING, AND COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIPS, WITH AND FOR ORGANIZATIONS AND GROUPS WORKING ON GENDER JUSTICE AND HEALING, WORKING TO SUPPORT ADOLESCENT GIRLS OF COLOR, AND WORKING ON HEALTHY MASCULINITIES INITIATIVES. -CONDUCTED A 5TH YEAR OF REGRANTING FOR THE GENDER JUSTICE AND HEALING GRANT PORTFOLIO TO 11 ORGANIZATIONS STATEWIDE. -AWARDED A 3RD YEAR OF REGRANTING THROUGH THE ADOLESCENT GIRLS OF COLOR PORTFOLIO TO 13 CURRENT AND NEW ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS NEW MEXICO. -AWARDED 12 GRANTS THROUGH OUR HEALING & SELF-CARE PORTFOLIO. -AWARDED DISCRETIONARY GRANTS TO VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS AND AGENCIES SUPPORTING GENDER JUSTICE AND HEALING. -BUILT OUT, TESTED, AND IMPLEMENTED A NEW GRANTMAKING PLATFORM TO MAKE OUR GRANTMAKING PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES MORE EFFICIENT AND STREAMLINED, WITH THE SYSTEM GOING LIVE TO SUPPORT HALF OF OUR GRANTMAKING PORTFOLIOS.
TRAINING & EDUCATION: -WORKED THROUGHOUT 2021 IN COALITION WITH PARTNERS AROUND THE STATE, AS THE NM HEALTHY MASCULINITIES COLLABORATIVE, TO DEVELOP A HEALTHY MASCULINITIES TOOLKIT AND PLAN AN ACCOMPANYING COMMUNICATIONS CAMPAIGN IN 2022. -STRENGTHENED THE GENDER JUSTICE MOVEMENT AND EFFORTS IN NEW MEXICO BY PARTNERING PRIMARILY WITH ORGANIZATIONS LED BY, OR SERVING WOMEN AND GIRLS OF COLOR, AS WELL AS LOW INCOME AND RURAL COMMUNITIES WORKING TO SUPPORT GENDER JUSTICE IN NEW MEXICO. -SERVED AS A HUB AND RESOURCE BY USING OUR ROLE AS A STATEWIDE PROGRAM AND FUND TO INCREASE THE PROFILE AND AMPLIFY THE EFFORTS OF THOSE WORKING AT THE GRASSROOTS LEVEL AROUND GENDER JUSTICE AND HEALING INCLUDING GROUPS WORKING ON HEALTHY MASCULINITY. -SHIFTED THE NARRATIVE AROUND INTERSECTIONAL FEMINISM, PATRIARCHY, SEXISM, HEALTHY MASCULINITY, AND OTHER GENDER JUSTICE ISSUES IN NEW MEXICO THROUGH STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS AND SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGNS.
RESEARCH: -NMW.O PRESENTED OUR PANDEMIC RESEARCH AS A PANELIST FOR A VIRTUAL ROUNDTABLE ON GENDER JUSTICE AND HEALING IN THE PANDEMIC: ADDRESSING VIOLENCE, HEALTH, AND WORK DISPARITIES FOR WOMEN, HOSTED BY UNM'S DIVISION FOR EQUITY & INCLUSION AND UNM'S WOMEN'S RESOURCE CENTER. THE PANEL EXPLORED THE WAYS IN WHICH THE PANDEMIC HAS DEEPENED AND EXPOSED THE STRUCTURAL INEQUALITIES IN OUR SOCIETY THAT AFFECT WOMEN, AND WOMEN OF COLOR SPECIFICALLY.
