Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
CPPH PRODUCES EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS AND RESOURCES DESIGNED TO INFORM STAKEHOLDERS AND POLICYMAKERS ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF CONTINUED PATIENT ACCESS AND ADHERENCE TO THE TREATMENTS PRESCRIBED BY THEIR DOCTOR. TO DATE, CPPH HAS PRODUCED AND/OR PROMOTED WEB VIDEOS, FACT SHEETS, INFOGRAPHICS, HEALTHCARE COST ANALYSES AND CLINICIAN TESTIMONIALS THAT SERVE TO HIGHLIGHT THE IMPORTANCE OF MEDICAL STABILITY AND THE CONSEQUENCES OF SWITCHING PATIENTS' MEDICATIONS FOR NON-MEDICAL REASONS OR DISCONTINUANCE OF MEDICATION DUE TO MISLEADING INFORMATION IN LAWSUIT ADVERTISEMENTS. CPPH HAS ALSO CONDUCTED POLLING RESEARCH TO DETERMINE THE PREVALENCE AND PUBLIC OPINION AROUND NON-MEDICAL SWITCHING AND DISCONTINUANCE OF MEDICATION AS A RESULT OF VIEWING LAWSUIT ADVERTISEMENTS.
CPPH ENGAGES IN ADVOCACY INITIATIVES TO PROMOTE INFORMED POLICYMAKING REGARDING CONTINUITY OF CARE AND INSURANCE REFORM THAT LIMITS UTILIZATION MANAGEMENT PRACTICES SUCH AS NON-MEDICAL SWITCHING. THESE INITIATIVES INCLUDE COALITION BUILDING AT THE NATIONAL AND STATE LEVELS BRINGING TOGETHER INTERESTED STAKEHOLDERS SUCH AS PATIENT ADVOCATES AND HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS TO INFORM POLICYMAKERS ABOUT BENEFITS OF MEDICAL STABILITY AND ROSPONSIBLE ADVERTISING.
CPPH RAISES PUBLIC AWARENESS ABOUT THE PREVALENCE AND DANGERS OF NON-MEDICAL SWITCHING AS WELL AS WHAT CAN BE DONE TO RESTRICT IT, AND THE DANGERS OF MISLEADING LAWSUIT ADVERTISEMENTS AND WHAT CAN BE DONE TO SAFEGUARD AGAINST THEM, THROUGH NATIONAL AND LOCAL PRESS RELEASES AND OPINION EDITORIALS FROM ALLIED STAKEHOLDERS AND POLICYMAKERS.
