HERD STRIVES TO SAVE AS MANY EQUINES AS POSSIBLE BY: REHOMING AND RESCUING THEM FROM THE SLAUGHTER PIPELINE; RESTORE TO HEALTH; RETRAIN TO MAXIMIZE POTENTIAL; MATCH TO MOST APPROPRIATE NEW OWNERS; AND, CREATE AWARENESS THROUGH EDUCATION TO PREVENT INHUMANE TREATMENT OF EQUINES.

HERD HAS SAVED OR ASSISTED IN SAVING OVER 630 EQUINES. HERD SAVES HORSES, MULES, AND DONKEYS FROM DIRE CIRCUMSTANCES AND IN MANY CASES RESCUES EQUINES DESTINED FOR SLAUGHTER. HERD HAS ESTABLISHED A NETWORK OF REPUTABLE TRANSPORTERS, QUARANTINE FACILITIES, VETS AND FINDS GOOD FOREVER HOMES. HERD REHABILITATES, RETRAINS AND REHOMES EQUINES SAVED. IN ADDITION, AN ADJUNCT SERVICE OF REHOMING HORSES HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED.
