TECH EXPOSURE AND ACCESS THROUGH MENTORING (TEAM) IS PREPARING STUDENTS FOR THE BOUNTY OF CAREER OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE AT THE INTERSECTION OF SPORTS AND TECHNOLOGY. WHILE SPORTS ARE A POWERFUL OUTLET FOR PROMOTING TEAMWORK, RESPONSIBILITY, AND PASSION, NOT ALL PATHS LEAD TO A PROFESSIONAL SPORTS CAREER. TEAM INC. IS COMMITTED TO CREATING ALTERNATIVE PATHS FOR THESE YOUTHS TO THRIVE, BY EDUCATING THEM ON AND CONNECTING THEM WITH, OPPORTUNITIES TO WORK IN SPORTS TECHNOLOGY. WE PROVIDE TECH TRAINING TO STUDENTS AND EMPOWER THEM TO ACQUIRE SKILLS THAT CAN HELP THEM PERFORM. TEAM PREPARES THE UNDERSERVED YOUTH TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE 21ST CENTURY GLOBAL ECONOMY. SINCE THE PILOT IN SPRING OF 2016, TEAM INC. CREATED A 14-WEEK APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM, SPECIFICALLY TARGETING UNDERREPRESENTED YOUTH AGES 14-19. WHAT IS PROMISING ABOUT THE TRAINING IS THE YOUTH WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT COMPONENT. BY JULY 2017, OUR FIRST COHORT OF 5 STUDENTS HAD ALREADY BEEN LEVERAGING THE SKILLS THEY ACQUIRED DURING OUR TRAINING TO ANALYZE AND BREAK DOWN FILM FOR LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS. THEY ALSO SPENT OVER 60 HOURS LEARNING THE SPORTSCODE KNOWLEDGE BASE AND ATTENDED NBA SUMMER LEAGUE WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO INTERFACE WITH SELECT TEAMS AND STAFF. MOST NOTABLY, SINCE THE SUMMER OF 2018, 24 STUDENTS HAVE PASSED THE SPORTSCODE BY HUDL INDUSTRY EXAM, MAKING THEM THE YOUNGEST CERTIFIED SPORTSCODE USERS IN THE WORLD. CURRENTLY, THREE OF OUR OLDEST STUDENTS ARE NOW WORKING IN VIDEO ANALYTICS ROLES FOR THEIR RESPECTIVE MEN'S AND WOMEN'S COLLEGIATE BASKETBALL TEAMS.
