Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
HOPE DEALER MENTORING - AN INTENSIVE MENTORING PROGRAM FOR YOUNG MEN AGED 13-21 WHO RESIDE IN COMMUNITIES OF CONCENTRATED VIOLENCE. THE PROGRAM FOCUSES ON LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL LEARNING, AND COMMUNITY SERVICE. WE GIVE AT-RISK YOUTH THE TOOLS THEY NEED TO BE PRODUCERS OF HOPE INSTEAD OF PRODUCTS OF THEIR ENVIRONMENT. DURING 2021, WE ADDED A RIVIERA BEACH LOCATION FOR PROGRAMMING IN ADDITION TO OUR HOME-BASE WEST PALM BEACH LOCATION. WE ALSO LAUNCHED THE HOPE DEALER WELLNESS PROGRAM, WHICH FEATURES YOGA AND MEDITATION SESSIONS FOR MENTEES ALONG WITH A MORE HOLISTIC WELLNESS-FOCUSED CURRICULUM, INCLUDING EDUCATION ON NUTRITION AND MENTAL HEALTH.
LADY HOPE DEALER MENTORING PROGRAM - THIS PROGRAM LAUNCHED IN JANUARY OF 2021 AND PROVIDES THE SAME INTENSIVE MENTORING TO GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN AGED 10-21. LIKE THE HOPE DEALER MENTORING PROGRAM, THIS PROGRAM INCORPORATES VARIOUS COMPONENTS, INCLUDING SESSIONS ON WELLNESS, FINANCIAL LITERACY, CAREER DEVELOPMENT, GOAL SETTING, AND SELF-REGULATION.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES - BROUGHT AWARENESS OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF CLIQUE/GANG VIOLENCE TO YOUTH ALREADY INVOLVED OR AT RISK OF BEING INVOLVED IN GANGS. WE WALK THE STREETS TO GIVE YOUTH HANDOUTS CONTAINING INFORMATION ON HOW THEY CAN STAY CONNECTED TO OUR ORGANIZATION AND OTHER MATERIAL WE FEEL WOULD HELP YOUTH REDUCE THEIR LIKELIHOOD OF PERPETRATING OR BEING VICTIMIZED BY GUN VIOLENCE.
