CENTRAL TEXAS PIG RESCUE WAS FOUNDED TO HELP ADVOCATE, EDUCATE AND REHABILITATE ON BEHALF OF PET PIGS.

IN 2021, CENTRAL TEXAS PIG RESCUE FOCUSED ON SECURING THE FUTURE OF THE ORGANIZATION BY PURCHASING, PREPARING, AND RELOCATING TO A NEWER AND LARGER PROPERTY. OVER MOST OF THE YEAR, WE TRANSFORMED THE UNIMPROVED 26-ACRE FORESTED LAND TO ACCOMMODATE THE INFRASTRUCTURE NEEDED TO HOUSE AND SUPPORT OUR ANIMAL RESIDENTS, ESTABLISHED INITIAL OFF-GRID SOLAR POWER, DUG A SOLAR-POWERED WELL, AND ESTABLISHED INITIAL HUMAN FACILITIES SUCH AS A COMMUNITY CENTER,A FEED BARN, AND A TEMPORARY RESIDENCE. AFTER RELOCATING OUR PIG RESIDENTS IN OCTOBER 2021, WE BEGAN HOSTING OUR FIRST ADVOCACY AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES ON SITE, INCLUDING PUBLIC TOURS AND VOLUNTEER EVENTS. OFF -SITE, OUR REHOMING NETWORK ASSISTED OVER 70 HOME-TO-HOME REHOMINGS OF UNWANTED COMPANION PIGS.
