TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO PEOPLE OF COLOR EXHIBITING FINANCIAL NEED WHO WISH TO PURSUE A CAREER IN EDUCATION, IN ORDER TO ENABLE THEM TO PURSUE HIGHER EDUCATION TO THAT END. SUPPORT IS PROVIDED TO APPLICANTS WHO HAVE BEEN EMPLOYED WITH THE EDMONDS SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR ONE OR MORE YEARS AND WHO MAKE A COMMITMENT TO TEACH IN THE EDMONDS SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THREE YEARS AFTER EARNING THEIR TEACHING DEGREE. GRANTS FOR: STUDENTS TUITION AND FEES - $50,454 STUDENTS BOOKS & EVALUATION TESTS - $986 STUDENTS LIVING EXPENSES - $63,568 STUDENTS OTHER EDUC. EXP. - $2,274 STUDENTS EMERGENCY FUNDS - $4,534 STUDENTS MENTORING PROGRAMS - $5,000 STUDENTS SPEAKING STIPEND - $100 TOTAL GRANTS - $126,916 OTHER EXPENSES ALLOCATED TO PROGRAM SERVICE - $5,725 TOTAL PROGRAM SERVICE PART III, LINE 28A - $132,641
