PRAISE ACADEMY IS A NEIGHBORHOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CURRENTLY SERVING 25 PRESCHOOL THROUGH EIGHTH-GRADE CHILDREN FROM THE LAKESIDE NEIGHBORHOOD IN SHREVEPORT, LA. THE ZIP CODE IN WHICH OUR SCHOOL RESIDES IS THE POOREST ZIP CODE IN LOUISIANA, WHERE 41% OF THE POPULATION HAS A HOUSEHOLD INCOME OF LESS THAN $15,000 AND 85% OF ALL FOURTH-GRADERS ARE NOT PROFICIENT IN READING. 100% OF OUR STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR MEALS UNDER THE LOUISIANA SCHOOL BREAKFAST AN LUNCH PROGRAM, WHICH WE PROVIDE.
