CURE THE STREETSIS A VIOLENCE INTERUPTION PILOT PROGRAM TO ASSIST VICTIMS OF GUNS VIOLENCE. CURE THE STREETS USES PROVEN, PUBLIC HEALTH STRATEGIES THAT TREAT VIOLENCE LIKE A DISEASE THAT CAN BE INTERRUPTED, TREATED, AND STOPPED FROM SPREADING. THE PROGRAM IDENTIFIES AND TREATS INDIVIDUALS AT THE HIGHEST RISK FOR CONFLICT BY PROVIDING SUPPORT SERVICES AND CHANGING BEHAVIOR. THE PROGRAM HIRED AND TRAINED CREDIBLE DISTRICT RESIDENTS WITH DEEP TIES TO THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS TO ENGAGE WITH WARRING CAMPS, ATTEMPS TO CALM TENSE SITUATIONS, AND MEDIATE BETWEEEN THE SIDES TO STOP VIOLENCE BEFORE IT HAPPENS.
DIVERSE CITYASSIST VICTIMS OF VIOLENCE WHO WENT TO THE HOSPITAL. THE PROGRAM HELPS ITS MEMBERS GET JOBS, HOUSING AND MAKE SURE THAT THEY WERE SAFE AND HEALTHY.
