ARETE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PRIMARY FUNDING FOR OPERATION OF A SCHOOL IN THE UNDERSERVED COMMUNITY OF PALACAGUINA, NICARAGUA. FUNDS WERE USED TO PROVIDE A BI-LINGUAL, QUALITY EDUCATION TO 168 STUDENTS IN PALACAGUINA GRADES PREK-3 THROUGH 4TH GRADE. THIS OPERATIONAL FUNDING INCLUDES: PROVIDING UNIFORMS TO STUDENTS, BOOKS AND CLASSROOM SUPPLIES, CLASSROOM FURNITURE/DESKS, SALARIES FOR TEACHERS AND ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONEL, TEACHER TRAINING, AS WELL AS DAILY EXPENSES REQUIRED FOR THE OPERATION OF SCHOOL.
ARETE CONTRIBUTED FUNDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPPING OF A SCHOOL IN THE UNDER-SERVED COMMUNITY OF PALACAGUINA, NICARAGUA. FUNDS IN 2021 WERE USED TO BUILD AND EQUIP A 4TH GRADE CLASSROOM, BUILD A SCHOOL KITCHEN AND CAFETERIA, COMPLETE SAFETY FENCING AND WALLS, BEGIN CONSTRUCTION OF A 5TH/6TH GRADE CLASSROOM BUILDING, COMPLETE A MIDDLE SCHOOL PLAYGROUND, GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS SUCH AS SIDEWALKS, SECURITY CAMERAS, AND COOLING FANS, AND OVERALL MAINTENANCE ITEMS SUCH AS PAINTING, DRAINAGE PROJECTS, AND SUCH.
IN ADDITION TO FUNDING EDUCATION AND SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION, ARETE CONTRIBUTED FUNDS FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS IN 2021 TO HELP IMPOVERISHED COMMUNITIES AND FAMILIES. PROJECTS INCLUDE 2 ONGOING, WEEKEND FOOD OUTREACHES SERVING MORE THAN 170 CHILDREN IN THE COMMUNITIES OF LA TUNA AND EL TAMARINDO AND DISTRIBUTION OF 90,205 MEALS TO HUNGRY FAMILIES. IN TOTAL, ARETE ASSISTED IN THE DELIVERY OF 120,691 MEALS IN 2021. OTHER COMMUNITY PROJECTS INCLUDE: THE REBUILDING OF A BRIDGE DESTROYED BY HURRICANES TO THE LA PLASUELA COMMUNITY AND THE REBUILDING OF TWO HOMES DESTROYED BY HURRICANES, ONE HOME DESTROYED BY A FIRE, AND ONE HOME FOR A FAMILY IN SEVERE NEED. ANOTHER SERVICE OUTREACH PROGRAM SERVICE WAS THE MONTHLY SUPPORT OF AN ELDERLY WIDOW AND MONTHLY SUPPORT OF A FAMILY IN NEED.
