MILITARY VETERANS AND FIRST-RESPONDERS SUFFERING FROM PTSD ATTEND RETREATS TO LEARN NATURAL HORSEMANSHIP THROUGH DIRECT INTERACTION AND CARRIAGE DRIVING. WRF ALSO RESCUES, REHABILITATES AND RE-PURPOSES HORSES USING NATURAL HORSEMANSHIP METHODS.

EQUINE INTERACTION: THROUGHOUT 2021, WRF SUPPORTED 91 INDIVIDUAL VETERANS AND FIRST RESPONDERS SUFFERING FROM POST TRAUMATIC STRESS SYNDROME THROUGH 17 DAY-LONG RETREATS (6 HOURS), AND 38 MINI-RETREATS (3 HOURS). WRF CONDUCTED 10 DEMONSTRATIONS TO MORE THAN 24 PEOPLE, INCLUDING VETERANS AND FIRST RESPONDERS EVALUATING WRF FOR FUTURE PARTICIPATION, AS WELL AS SUPPORTERS, GOVERNMENT LEADERSHIP, AND DONORS.
DRIVING: ADDED TO EQUINE INTERACTION PROGRAM IN AUGUST 2021 AS AN ADDITIONAL METHOD OF HORSE INTERACTION FOR PARTICIPANTS. 12 SESSIONS WERE HELD FOR VETERANS AND FIRST RESPONDERS, 3 PER SESSION. 17 VETERANS AND FIRST RESPONDERS BENEFITED FROM PARTICIPATION ACROSS MULTIPLE SESSIONS.
HORSE RESCUE: WRF RESCUED THREE HORSES IN JULY 2021 - 1 FULL SIZE AND 2 MINI HORSES. TRAINING BEGAN IMMEDIATELY TO REHABILITATE, RETRAIN AND RE-PURPOSE THE HORSES IN PREPARATION FOR ADOPTION TO A NEW HOME. AS PART OF THE RE-TRAINING, THE HORSES ARE USED IN RETREATS AND CARRIAGE DRIVING.
