Part 3
THE CLEVELAND DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION WAS ORGANIZED IN OCTOBER 2014 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENHANCING THE CITY OF CLEVELAND MISSISSIPPI IN QUALITY-OF-LIFE ISSUES. IN PRIOR YEARS CITIES AND COUNTIES OFTEN RECEIVED GRANTS AND CONTRIBUTIONS FROM INDIVIDUAL OR PRIVATE COMPANIES FOR VARIOUS REASONS. IN RECENT YEARS MOST PRIVATE INDUSTRIES AND/OR ENTITIES HAVE DISCONTINUED MAKING GIFTS TO CITIES BUT WOULD RATHER MAKE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS OR GRANT AWARDS TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. AS SUCH CLEVELAND DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION WAS ORGANIZED IN AN EFFORT TO SECURE THESE FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES THAT HAVE BEEN LOST IN RECENT YEARS.
