THUS, RAISE THE BAR COMMITS TO SUPPORTING FINDLAY-HANCOCK COUNTY'S WORKERS AND RESIDENTS ON THEIR JOURNEY TO BECOME THE BEST VERSION OF THEMSELVES. BY INVESTING IN CHARACTER (SOFT SKILL) DEVELOPMENT, RAISE THE BAR HELPS INDIVIDUALS NURTURE THE VIRTUES AND PRINCIPLES THEY NEED TO THRIVE. RAISE THE BAR'S LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMING CENTERS ON FRANKLIN COVEY'S 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE (ALSO KNOWN AS LEADER IN ME FOR K-12 SCHOOL DISTRICTS), WHICH IGNITES UNTAPPED TALENT POTENTIAL AND TRANSFORMS CLASSROOMS, WORKPLACES, AND HOMES.
CAREER EXPOSURE. INDIVIDUALS ALONG THE CRADLE-TO-CAREER CONTINUUM NEED EXPOSURE TO INDUSTRIES AND THEIR CAREER OPPORTUNITIES. EXPOSURE EVENTS INCLUDE FACE-TO-FACE INTERACTIONS AS WELL AS A LITERACY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM CALLED LITERACY + MANUFACTURING (LIT MAN). IN PARTICULAR, LIT MAN SUPPORTS 800 THIRD GRADERS AND 45 THIRD-GRADE CLASSROOMS ACROSS HANCOCK COUNTY IN LEARNING ABOUT LOCAL MANUFACTURERS THROUGH READING AND OTHER INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCES. PROGRAMMING OFFERED UNDER THIS UMBRELLA OF SERVICES AIMS TO CHANGE HOW INDIVIDUALS LEARN ABOUT AND PREPARE FOR HANCOCK COUNTY'S CAREERS AND INDUSTIRES.
WORKFORCE PATHWAY NURTUREMENT. PEOPLE NEED CLEARLY DEFINED AND EASY-TO- ACCESS PATHWAYS TO ENTER THE WORKFORCE AND THEIR IDEAL OCCUPATION/EMPLOYMENT POSITION. STARTING WITH EARNING A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA/GED, INDIVIDUALS CAN THEN APPROACH A FUTURE CAREER THROUGH ONE OF SEVERSL ADDITIONAL PATHWAYS. RAISE THE BAR ESTABLISHES PATHWAYS TO SIMULTANEOUSLY BENEFIT EMPLOYERS AND WORK ASSOCIATES. IMPROVING SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE THROUGH FORMAL, INFORMAL, HIGHER EDUCATION, AND/OR OTHER TRAINING SETTINGS WILL IMPROVE EMPLOYEE PRODUCTIVITY AND QUALITY WHILE DECREASING THE PERCEIVED SKILLS GAPS. KEY PROGRAMMING UNDER THIS UMBRELLA INCLUDES TRACKING STUDENT PROGRESS TOWARD HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION, DEVELOPING AND MANAGING APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS (E.G., MANUFACTURING APPRENTICESHIP AND ENTRY-LEVEL MANAGEMENT LEADERSHIP APPRENTICESHIP), AND ESTABLISHING CONNECTIONS BETWEEN EMPLOYERS AND EDUCATORS TO BENEFIT TRAINING AND CURRICULUM.
