YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMING- ATTENDED BY 50 YOUTHS. AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS HAVE PROVIDED STUDENTS WITH FREE TUTORING, HOMEWORK HELP AND STEAM CLASSES. WE ALSO EXPANDED OUR TEEN CLUB OFFERINGS IN 2021 TO HELP HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS PREPARE FOR COLLEGE AND THEIR FUTURE CAREERS.


SUMMER ACADEMY DAY CAMP- WE HELD OUR FIRST IN-PERSON SUMMER CAMP SINCE THE PANDEMIC. 80 CAMPERS PARTICIPATED IN COOKING CLASSES, ARTS AND CRAFTS ACTIVITIES AND FIELD TRIPS. CAMPERS ALSO MARCHED IN OUR 32ND PEACE PARADE. SUMMER CAMP WAS HELD IN TWO 3-WEEK SESSIONS - JULY AND JUNE SESSION.


FAMILY PRIDE- HOSTED 55 EDUCATION WORKSHOPS AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT PLAYGROUPS THAT COVERED EVERYTHING FROM SAFE SLEEP AND YOGA TO FINANCIAL PLANNING AND PROCESSING LIFE TRANSITIONS WITH 50 MOTHERS AN CHILDREN BIRTH THROUGH AGE FOUR YEARS OLD. IN ADDITION, OUR PARENTS CONTINUED RECEIVING CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE THERAPY AND THOUGHTS OUT LOUD COUNCELING AND MOMS-TO-BE HAD ACCESS TO FREE DOULA SERVICES WITH DEEPLY ROOTED BIRTH AND WELLNESS.


ADULT PROGRAMMING- MIDTOWN PROVIDED A RANGE OF ADULT PROGRAMMING INCLUDING SOCIAL AND VOLUNTEER GROUPS FOR MEN AND WOMEN, AND COMMUNITY DISCUSSIONS. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, MIDTOWN MAMAS PARTICIPATED IN 93 VIRTUAL EXERCISE CLASSES, FINANCIAL PLANNING, COMPUTER AND HEALTH WORKSHOPS AND ARTS AND COOKING ACTIVITIES. COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING- MIDTOWN COMMUNITY SERVICES HOSTED 2 COMMUNITY EVENTS IN 2021. WE WERE ABLE TO HOLD OUR ANNUAL HOLIDAY SPONSORSHIP DRIVE AND 67 FAMILIES WERE BLESSED WITH GIFT CARDS AND 60 SENIORS RECEIVED A HOLIDAY BAG. COMMUNITY GARDEN PROGRAM- THE GARDEN PROVIDED MIDTOWN COMMUNITY MEMBERS WITH FRESH PRODUCE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. FOUR NEW BEDS WERE BUILT BY SPIRE GAS COMPANY TO HELP EXPAND OUR GROWING ABILITY. YOUTH PROGRAMMING, FAMILY PRIDE AND ADULT PROGRAMMING ALL TAKE PART AT THE GARDEN.
