PIKESPEAKOUTDOORS.ORG, OUTDOOR RETAILER SHOW,PIKES PEAK LITTER LETTER PROJECT IN 2022, WE CONTINUED TO UPDATE & IMPROVE THE WEBSITEDESIGNED FOR LOCALS & TOURISTS ALIKE TO FIND ALL THE INFORMATION NEEDED TO SAFELY & RESPONSIBLY RECREATE IN OUR REGION. WE ATTENDED THE OUTDOOR RETAILER SHOWS, HOLDING A HAPPY HOUR AT A BOOTH DURING THE SUMMER SHOW TO PROMOTE THE PIKES PEAK REGION TO SHOW ATTENDEES, OUTDOOR BUSINESSES, AND INDUSTRY LEADERS. WE HOSTED THE 4TH ANNUAL LITTER LETTER PROJECT WITH CLEAN-UPS ACROSS THE AREA FILLING GIANT LETTERS THAT SPELLED THE WORD RESPECT & STAYED ON DISPLAY THROUGH OCTOBER.
PIKES PEAK APEX WE SUCCESSFULLY HELD THE SECOND YEAR OF THE PIKES PEAK APEX EVENT. THE PIKES PEAK APEX IS A UNIQUE 4-DAY MOUNTAIN BIKE CHALLENGE ON THE SLOPES OF PIKES PEAK, AMERICAS MOUNTAIN. THE EVENT FEATURES EXHILARATING, EXCEPTIONALLY CRAFTED ROUTES THROUGH DIRT ROADS, JEEP TRAILS, & THE AMAZING ALPINE SINGLE TRACK THAT IS ESSENTIAL PIKES PEAK. THE TERRAIN IS CHALLENGING, BUT NOT OVERLY TECHNICAL. THE RACE DRAWS NOT ONLY PROFESSIONAL RIDERS, BUT ALSO AMATEUR CYCLISTS LOOKING FOR A BUCKET LIST ENDURANCE EXPERIENCE. THE PIKES PEAK APEX BENEFITS THE REGION'S CITIZENS, THROUGH ECONOMIC IMPACT AND GREATER VISIBILITY AND AWARENESS OF THE PIKES PEAK REGION AS A DESIRABLE OUTDOOR RECREATION DESTINATION.
PPORA STEWARDSHIP FUND THROUGH THE PIKES PEAK APEX, THE PPORA STEWARDSHIP FUND INVESTED $14,092 INTO LOCAL TRAIL CONNECTIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS.COLLABORATING WITH LAND MANAGERS & LIKE-MINDED ADVOCACY GROUPS, THE PPORA STEWARDSHIP FUND BRINGS ATTENTION AND ACTION TO THE PIKES PEAK REGION'S TRAIL SYSTEM & SURROUNDING LANDS FOR MULTIPLE USES & USERS. THE FUND SUPPORTS BOTH THE EXISTING & THE POTENTIAL SYSTEM WITH PRIORITY GIVEN TO ENSURE RACE VENUE AREAS & TRAILS EMERGE MORE SUSTAINABLE & BETTER CONNECTED FOR ENJOYMENT BY ALL USERS IN THE GREATER COMMUNITY. FUNDS WERE ALLOCATED TO SPECIFIC ON-THE-GROUND TRAIL PROJECTS IN THE COMMUNITY IN 2021 WITH SOME FUNDS HELD OVER TO 2022.
