THE CONGRESSIONAL INNOVATION FELLOWSHIP IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR EARLY - MID CAREER TECHNOLOGY PROFESSIONALS TO GET HANDS ON EXPERIENCE WORKING IN CONGRESS AND LEARN ABOUT THE POLICYMAKING PROCESS. THE PROGRAM EMBRACES DIVERSITY AND BELIEVES THAT A WIDE RANGE OF VIEWS, BACKGROUNDS AND EXPERIENCE WILL CONTRIBUTE TO IMPROVED POLICY OUTCOMES.THE CONGRESSIONAL INNOVATION SCHOLARS PROGRAM IS A FELLOWSHIP EXCLUSIVELY FOR INDIVIDUALS EARLY IN THEIR CAREER (TWO - SIX YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN AGGREGATE)OR INDIVIDUALS THAT HAVE RECENTLY FINISHED, OR ARE ON THE CUSP OF FINISHING A TECHNICAL DEGREE PROGRAM.TO DATE, TECHCONGRESS HAS SENT 65 TECHNOLOGISTS TO CONGRESS TO SERVE WITH OFFICES INCLUDING HOUSE SPEAKER NANCY PELOSI (D-CA), SENATE MAJORITY WHIP JOHN THUNE (R-SD), SENATOR RAND PAUL (R-KY), SENATOR AMY KLOBUCHAR (D-MN), THE SENATE HOMELAND SECURITY COMMITTEE AND THE HOUSE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE.
