DURING THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR, WHILE WE IMPROVED THE CAMPUS' ELECTRICAL NEEDS, DID WORK TO THE LEAKY ROOFS, GUTTED AND REDID THE BATHROOMS AND INSTALLED A FUNCTIONAL KITCHEN FOR THE MESS HALL WE SIMULTANEOUSLY RAN TWO PROGRAMS IN THE SPACE OF WOMEN EMPOWERMENT AND AGROECOLOGY THAT PROVIDED NEW KNOWLEDGE AND OPPORTUNITIES TO OVER 400 PEOPLE.IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR WE TEAMED UP WITH UN WORLD FOOD PROGRAMME AND SCOUTED 12 WOMEN FROM FIVE VILLAGES IN THE DEPARTMENT OF HUEHUETENANGO FOR OUR 10 WEEK SOLAR TRAINING PROGRAM. THIS TRAINING PROGRAM WAS COMPLETED BEFORE THE MIDDLE OF DECEMBER AND FOLLOWED WITH THE INSTALLATION OF 180 SOLAR HOME LIGHTING SYSTEMS.
