THE VIDEO CONSORTIUM IS A GLOBAL NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT SUPPORTS, DEVELOPS, AND CONNECTS THE NEW GENERATION'S VIDEO JOURNALISTS AND DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKERS. THROUGH ITS PROGRAMS, VC EQUIPS NONFICTION VIDEO STORYTELLERS WITH ESSENTIAL RESOURCES TO MAKE IMPACTFUL FILMS THAT CHANGE THE WORLD.

GENERAL PROGRAMS: THE VIDEO CONSORTIUM'S GENERAL PROGRAMS SUPPORT AND CONNECT VIDEO JOURNALISTS AND NONFICTION FILMMAKERS WITH ESSENTIAL TOOLS, RESOURCES, AND COMMUNITY BUILDING OPPORTUNITIES SO THEY CAN EFFECTIVELY TELL IMPACTFUL STORIES THAT INSPIRE AND INFORM AUDIENCES WORLDWIDE.LOCAL HUBS: OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY HUBS BRING CREATIVES IN THEIR LOCAL REGIONS TOGETHER FOR RELATIONSHIP BUILDING, KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGES, AND MUTUAL SUPPORT. FILMMAKERS AND JOURNALISTS VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME TO PROGRAM SCREENINGS, FACILITATE MENTORSHIP PROGRAMS AND WORKSHOPS, AND LEAD GATHERINGS FOR THEIR COLLEAGUES THAT CONTRIBUTE TO DEEPER PROFESSIONAL COLLABORATION, WIDER IMPACT FOR VIDEO STORIES, AND A MORE INTERCONNECTED MEDIA ECOSYSTEM FOR ALL.SOLUTIONS STORYTELLING PROJECT: THE SOLUTIONS STORYTELLING PROJECT IS A COLLABORATIVE STORYTELLING FELLOWSHIP THAT CONNECTS REGIONAL FILMMAKERS AND SOCIAL INNOVATORS TO PRODUCE SOLUTIONS-FOCUSED SHORT DOCUMENTARIES THAT CATALYZE POSITIVE CHANGE. THERE WERE NINETEEN SSP FILMMAKING FELLOWS ACROSS AFRICA (2022-2023) AND SIXTEEN SSP FILMMAKING FELLOWS ACROSS LATIN AMERICA (IN PROGRESS, 2023-2024). THE AFRICAN FELLOWS' NINETEEN FILMS WERE PICKED UP BY TOP MEDIA OUTLETS, RAISED FUNDS AND AWARENESS FOR THE SOCIAL ISSUES THEY COVERED, AND HAVE BEEN COLLECTIVELY VIEWED MORE THAN A MILLION TIMES (AND STILL COUNTING) BY AUDIENCES AROUND THE GLOBE.
