ALLISON RUSH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AT PONDEROSA HIGH SCHOOL -TWO SCHOLARSHIPS OUR ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP, NOW GOING INTO ITS 16TH YEAR, IS IN MEMORY OF ALLISON RUSH OF PINOLE, CALIFORNIA. IN HER SHORT 13 YEARS, ALLISON MADE A LASTING IMPACT ON FAMILY AND FRIENDS. ALLISON LOVED EVERY ASPECT OF SCHOOL (EVEN HOMEWORK) BUT NEVER HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE HIGH SCHOOL OR COLLEGE. TO HONOR ALLISON, ONE-TIME SCHOLARSHIPS OF 3,000 ARE AWARDED TO SUCCESSFUL PONDEROSA HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS ASPIRING TO ATTEND A 4-YEAR UNIVERSITY. SAN FELIPE ROTARY FUND FOR COMPUTERS, SCHOLARSHIPS AND JAPANESE CLASSES THE GRACIE/KUCHY SANCHEZ YOUTH EDUCATION PROGRAM IS AN ONGOING PROJECT OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF SAN FELIPE, SUPERVISED BY THE CLUB'S YOUTH DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE. THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO ASSIST THE FAMILIES OF SCHOOL STUDENTS IN SAN FELIPE, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO. LIVE TO GIVE FOUNDATION'S SPONSORSHIP FOR EACH STUDENT PROVIDES REQUIRED SCHOOL UNIFORMS, INCLUDING SHOES, BOOKS, EXAM AND SCHOOL FEES, AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR EACH SCHOOL YEAR. THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE STUDENTS TO CONTINUE IN THIS PROGRAM INCLUDE GOOD ATTENDANCE, SEEKING TUTORING ASSISTANCE IF NECESSARY, NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL, PARTICIPATION IN COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS, GOOD CITIZENSHIP, AND PROMPT COMPLETION OF ALL ASSIGNMENTS. A STUDENT'S PROGRESS AND PERFORMANCE IS CHECKED AT MID-TERM AND AT THE END OF EACH SEMESTER. BENEDICT'S PREP PREPARES BOYS AND GIRLS IN AND AROUND NEWARK TO FULFILL THEIR POTENTIAL AS EMOTIONALLY MATURE, MORALLY RESPONSIBLE AND WELL-EDUCATED CITIZENS. IN OPERATION FOR 150 YEARS, SBP OFFERS A RIGOROUS CURRICULUM THAT SHARPENS THE MIND, SHAPES THE CHARACTER AND NOURISHES THE SPIRIT. THEIR PHILOSOPHY HAS A RICH TRADITION OF COMMUNITY, LEADERSHIP AND EXCELLENCE. AT THE CORE OF THE SCHOOL'S PHILOSOPHY IS EMPOWERING KIDS, MANY OF WHOM HAD NO CONTROL OVER THEIR LIVES. THE STUDENTS MAKE DECISIONS ON ACTIVITIES AND RULES AND THEY ARE SO SUCCESSFUL IN THEIR METHODS, THAT THE SCHOOL HAS A 98 PERCENT GRADUATION RATE, AND 85 PERCENT OF THE STUDENTS EARN COLLEGE DEGREES; THEY ARE NOW TEACHING THEIR UNIQUE APPROACH TO OTHER SCHOOLS AROUND THE COUNTRY. UNFORGETTABLE RIDE ALZHEIMER'S SUPPORT GROUP THE UNFORGETTABLE RIDE IS DEDICATED TO THE RESEARCH AND CARE FOR ALZHEIMER'S AND DEMENTIA PATIENTS. STARTED BY COURT AND JENN EDWARDS IN SUPPORT OF JENN'S MOTHER, LINDA RUSH, WHO PASSED AWAY FROM ALZHEIMER'S IN AUGUST OF 2019. THE UNFORGETTABLE RIDE IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT ENCOMPASSES THEIR LOVE OF RIDING MOTORCYCLES AND THEIR COMMITMENT TO ASSISTING CAREGIVERS AND INDIVIDUALS THAT ARE BATTLING THIS HORRIFIC DISEASE. ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE RIDE INCLUDING DONATIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR ARE USED TOWARDS THE CARE FOR ALZHEIMER'S AND DEMENTIA PATIENTS AS WELL AS THE FUNDING TOWARDS THOSE FIGHTING TO FIND A CURE.
