OWS INITIATED A NEW PROGRAM IN 2021, OPERATION CANINE COMPANION WHICH PROVIDES COMPANION DOGS FOR SERIOUSLY WOUNDED VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES. OUR FIRST COMPANION DOGS WERE DELIVERED TO TWO SERIOUSLY WOUNDED US MARINES AT OUR ANNUAL GALA.
OWS, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE DAVID LYNCH FOUNDATION PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS TO TRAIN 72 NYPD OFFICERS TO HANDLE THEIR STRESS BY TEACHING THEM MEDITATION. OWS INTERFACED WITH THE NYC DEPT OF VETERAN SERVICES IN PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO NEEDY VETERANS.
PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO SUPPORT VARIOUS VETERANS AND FIRST RESPONDERS PROGRAMS THROUGH OUTREACH, PUBLIC SPEAKING AND PRESENTATIONS. DURING 2021 WORKED WITH THE FOLLOWING ORGANIZATIONS NYC DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS SERVICES, NYPD, VIETNAM VETERANS OF AMERICA, DORIS DAY ANIMAL FOUNDATION AND THE BROOKLYN BOROUGHS PRESIDENTS OFFICE.
