TO ADVANCE STATE POLICIES AND PRACTICES THAT ENSURE ALL TENNESSEE CHILDREN BIRTH THROUGH 3RD GRADE GET THE HIGH QUALITY EARLY EDUCATION THEY NEED TO POWER OUR STATE'S FUTURE.

TQEE HAS A ROBUST LOBBYING PROGRAM THROUGH WHICH STAFF AND CONTRACT PERSONNEL DEVELOP LEGISLATION AND LOBBY STATE POLICYMAKERS ON BEHALF OF LEGISLATION SUPPORTIVE OF YOUNG CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES. THIS LOBBYING WORK COMBINED WITH OTHER EDUCATION, AWARENESS AND ADVOCACY ACTIVITY RESULTED IN THE PASSAGE OF SEVERAL KEY BILLS IN 2021, INCLUDING THE TENNESSEE OPPORTUNITY ACT, LEGISLATION THT ESTABLISHED THE TN CHILD CARE TASK FORCE, AND A PACKAGE OF BILLS IMPLEMENTING A PROGRAM OF SUPPORT FOR EARLY LITERACY.
TQEE CONTRIBUTED TO A POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE CALLED TQEEPAC. ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE SUPPORTING CANDIDATES FOR ELECTION WHO ARE SUPPORTIVE OF POLICIES THAT ADVANCE HIGH QUALITY, AFFORDABLE EARLY CARE AND EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN BIRTH THROUGH 3RD GRADE.
TQEE CONDUCTS EDUCATION AND AWARENESS ACTIVITIES AND COALITION BUILDING, WITH SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES SUCH AS WEBINARS AND VIRTUAL TOWN HALL EVENTS, ADVOCATE TRAINING AND ORIENTATION, SPEAKING AT CONFERENCES, DEVELOPMENT OF BRIEFING DOCUMENTS AND E-COMMUNICATIONS, AMONG OTHER THINGS. TQEE'S COALITION GREW TO NEARLY 30,000 TENNESSEANS IN 2021.
