REBUILD JOHNSTON SQUARE NEIGHBORHOOD ORGANIZATION WAS FORMED IN 2013 WITH A MISSION TO DEVELOP JOHNSTON SQUARE INTO A MODEL COMMUNITY IN BALTIMORE CITY BY BUILDING COMMUNITY POWER, CREATING OPEN SPACES AND RECREATION OPPORTUNITIES, IMPROVING LOCAL BEAUTIFICATION AND PUBLIC SAFETY, AND FOSTERING REVITALIZATION OF THE COMMUNITY WITHOUT DISPLACEMENT. USING EXTENSIVE TRAINING FROM THE BUILD ORGANIZATION, REBUILD JOHNSTON SQUARE NEIGHBORHOOD ORGANIZATION BUILDS POWER BY ORGANIZING PEOPLE, PARTNERS AND RESOURCES, AND BY LISTENING AND ACTING ON THE DESIRES OF THE COMMUNITY, USING COMMUNITY ORGANIZING AND LISTENING CAMPAIGNS TO PROMOTE CLEANING AND GREENING INITIATIVES, RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN, EDUCATIONAL AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, AND PUBLIC SAFETY IN THE JOHNSTON SQUARE COMMUNITY.
